It’s called The Matchmakers and it’s actually more of a comedy. It has only 7.9 here because of haters/antis, but it’s really good. Well, at least, I think so because Inlove the chemistry between the leads 🥰

Yes, I also don’t think it will be QM who is at fault for the fire 🔥. It could be one of those things where a person think they are guilty because they did something bad (like a small fire) but it was someone else who either killed the king or used that as a further excuse to burn things down.

Do some sources translate his job title as “president”? Disney+ has him as “prime minister” in English subtitles, but I’ve seen people mention “president” a few times.

We’d all love to see our favorite dramas get 10.1/10 on MDL, but it’s important to take a breath and realize that MDL ratings mean NOTHING to the production teams, cast, crew, platforms in Korea/China/Japan/etc. They use different kinds of metrics and in this case it’s very popular in Korea and is popular on Disney+. Other than downvoting clearly troll/hater reviews, not sure what we can reasonably do. Bad people will continue making new accounts and spreading hate 😞

I know what you mean. At least it was a couple introduction scene and not their actual marriage ceremony. There was a historical drama where ML married a princess and she died a few minutes later, but it was too late to annul the marriage. So he couldn’t divorce/annul anything and was stuck as a widower 🥺

We may have a situation where bad people get their hands on the marriage contract and blackmail ML into stopping his quest to become a king. Something along those lines.

We all love the leads (except for haters, lol) but she’s definitely a gem in this drama too along with the actress who plays FL’s sister in law.

In the drama, royalty has high status/prestige but no money. They are supported by the state (taxpayers) which is why prime minister oversees their affairs. It’s possible they may own some real estate assets (like palaces, homes, etc.) but they are cultural landmarks so can’t be sold anyway. So that’s why ML marrying FL is a worst case scenario for Queen Mother. Now ML has access to a lot of money and he can use those funds to get public even more on his side and mount a campaign to become a king (for example, the king is a child, let’s not ruin his childhood and ML already acts as a regent anyway, so what’s the difference).

Well… he put it in the safe now but it just gives us a hint of what might happen: best case scenario — no one will break in and he will use that will to become the king; worst case — they will break in, steal the contract and use it to cause trouble. But, honestly, at this point most of us except a contract marriage drama to have something like that, lol. There needs to be something exposing marriage as a sham, heroes get separated for a bit but then get back together because they truly love one another.

P.S. I’m also lowkey not sure Queen Mother was the main cause of that inferno. She might think she was at fault but it will turn out the king was dead already or that someone else was involved 🤔

Episode 4 is the best so far… by a lot!

Marriage contact will be discovered for sure. And it will likely happen when someone breaks in to find The Document (you know what I mean) and the contract will be there

I’ve asked a lot of people in the comments of Our Generation about the book. It had a bit more details about his life over there but — bottom line — even the book didn’t have a reasonable explanation for his behavior. But other than that Inreally enjoyed OG because of its vibe. It was a bit like WIFTY x TFF… except the source material wasn’t as strong 🙄

TFF was meant to be watched with The Best Thing 😁 They aired at almost the same time and balanced each other out (for the most part). One thing I appreciated about TFF is that they did a reasonably good job of explaining why FL left both times. That’s a lot different than most dramas where people leave their beloved for random/unwarranted reasons. For example, I loved the mood & ambiance of “Our Generation” (and love both leads, obviously), but I just couldn’t accept the reason why ML left & ghosted FL. So in comparison to most dramas, TFF did a great job and I especially enjoyed mix of present day & flashbacks. I’m not a huge fan of when episode 1 has present day (leads meet again) then we have to watch 15-25 episodes of their past and then move back to present day.

I hope in 10 years when they announce their marriage and a birth of their child, the fandom war can stop 🤣 If only we could have situations like in “You Are My Glory” when both management & fans encouraged their idols to get married & were super supportive 😁
