EXACTLY what i meant i totally agree with you!! I really like ZYR acting in this and I hope to see him in roles like that in the future. People need to separate an actor and his role. I feel the same about mumu I think the conversation she had with qingyu was a good thing because I was scared of the consequences if qingyu and ming sheng ran away fr. I'm omw to watch ep 14 and cry 💔
OK so there is a lot to say about this drama!! First of all, imo its one of the best cdramas Ive watched so far. I will try to not spoil too much I just want to give my opinion <3.
I'm sick of people still attaching ZYR to his old role in WIFTY, like please its been almost 2 years. I can understand that people are attached to the story and to the couple but that doesn't mean you should say that ZYR and ZJY have no chemistry. I think they make a great pair. And also can people stop saying that ZJY is ugly??? I don't understand if yall are blind or blind. She is supposed to have "innocent" features and no makeup because she is a teenage girl in 2007 living with strict parent (without the s because the father is not really strict....but lets talk about him later). The actress who plays the mother was also in Reset (she actually traumatized me T_T) and I think this kind of role fits her. I also like the rest of the cast.
I watched for the cast and I didn't read the synopsis before going into this drama but the mystery part was a really good surprise. But even without the mystery, this drama is soooo realistic I can't even describe it. It hurts to watch. The struggels of Qiao Qingyu with the bullying, the fact that she is still learning about how the world works, the expectations of her parents and the pression she is under, the qiao in laws treating her mother like she is not part of the family, the patriarcal values, the dad being a coward, the unhappiness of their marriage...Everything is well represented. I really like the acting as you can tell. I love the pace of the drama but I hope 23 episodes will be enough.
I love the relationship between Qiao qingyu and her brother its feels like a real familial dynamic. I kinda hate the qiao family (like everyone I think) but I'm gonna say more about this. I hate the parents (I hate the dad more) but I can see where they are coming from. The father was raised in the qiao family so thats his only explenation for the way he is acting but please express your opinion if you think of something else. I hope we will have more to say about him because for now he is just the dog of the qiao family. The mother lost her parents, married into the qiao family, was "forced" to have more than 1 child, was "forced" to abandon Qiao Beiyu, lost her daughter, and then her other daughter disappears. I feel more pain for her. But I don't think she is a good mother even if she loves her children (its making me feel bad to say that like she is real person haha). She always yell like its gonna change something. She is stressed about money and everything and always complaining doesn't do any good to the children because now they gonna become stressed about everything and it shows with Qingyu. She has anxiety bro can't you not see that? Her mom didn't trust Beiyu and now she doesn't trust her (the whole situation with Ming sheng in the episode 13 was crazy). Stricts parents are just people who love control and it's really unbearable to watch. The qiao family care sooo much about reputation but didn't do anything when people talked badly about Beiyu. The cousin didn't even come when Beiyu was losing HIS BABY and he is supposed to have a great life?????? I really hate him and the whole qiao family.
About Wang Mumu, maybe she was jealous of Qingyu of maybe she just doesn't have anyone in her life as close as Ming Sheng. She is a victim of abuse (really important part, some people tend to forget this!!!) and her only close friend is Ming Sheng. I also think that if him and Qingyu really did run away, their future would not be really good..so the fact that their plan failed is bittersweet for me. I love that Qingyu and Ming Sheng can find comfort in each other they are really cute together!!
About the family of Ming Sheng, at first I was thinking that he should hate both of his parents because his mother did go to France (even if "Paris" don't look like Paris in the drama 🤣). But It's more complex then that. He hates his father because he is the cause of the divorce (in his mind) and he didn't tell Ming Sheng about his grandfather dying. I agree with Ming Sheng about his opinion of white lies.
Also the fact that Qingyu wants to dance like her sister and Ming Sheng plays the piano like his mother really shows who they look up to.
Anyway I have so much more to say but I'm gonna stop here!! XO <3.
