Using the Swastika as a Shield At the time, Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan were allies Rabe leaned into this hard to protect the Chinese people Because Japan didn't want to offend their German allies, Japanese soldiers were often hesitant to attack areas where Rabe was physically present.He spread a massive Nazi flag over his property so that Japanese pilots would see the swastika from the air and refrain from bombing the refugees huddling underneath it. Rabe spent his days patrolling the zone, literally pulling Japanese soldiers off of women and civilians. He would often shout at them and point to his Nazi badge.. When he returned to Germany in 1938, he tried to show films and photos of the atrocities to Adolf Hitler, hoping the Führer would intervene with Japan. Instead, the Gestapo arrested Rabe, confiscated his evidence, and told him to keep his mouth shut. He’s a real hero in China, he even became poor and lost his job to stand up for justice so Chinese people raised a sum of money and sent him monthly food packages to keep him and his family alive until he died in 1950.

because its like a cautionary tale hence the title. i watched this when i was pretty young and it forever scared me in a way. now i will never ever sucum to peer pressure and force myself to help even when it could break me. its very important strory..
its not a romance though why should ml and fl be close. the ml is evil the show to me was like the saddest lost of innocence and showing deeper meaning like no matter what women always get screwed. she never wanted to be a revolunist but out of presure and puppy love she did do it. than she became stronger. did u see how they looked at her after practicing like she was dirty it was so real and gut wrentching. shows how she is being taken advanatge of no body chose her not even her father. her choosing him at the end just shows how broken her idea of care is. its showing reality ofcourse its not pretty. to be honest everything felt relastic. also she befrendied bc of the duty not real friendship. mabye least relastic stuff was the finger stuff in car mabye he was tryna take her agency away.

Yes! All of these shows glorifying the period are so dangerous; even the school curriculum doesn't often acknowledge this. I hope people will be more aware, and more movies will come holding them accountable,
