It’s disgusting how some fans keep crying about screen time, like screen time alone is what makes your fave…
I just finished watching Episode 13. I knew toxic fans will complain because the last 4 episodes i watched was mainly about the elder sister and Shiguan. Very typical.
It’s time to go back and rewatch the lighter, fun episodes, the ones that made everything feel warm and easy before the pain set in. I need a reminder of those moments of joy and laughter.
Okay, that was another great episode. Pain stacked on top of pain, scene after scene, emotion after emotion. It wasn’t an easy watch at all, and at times it genuinely hurt to keep going, but it was absolutely worth it. The storytelling keeps digging deeper, refusing to offer comfort, yet somehow that honesty is what makes it powerful. Every moment felt heavy, deliberate, and meaningful. I finished the episode emotionally drained but still grateful I watched it, because despite all the heartbreak, it was really worth the time.
The deeper I went, the more i realized that the comedy at the beginning was just bait. What was once felt warm and fun slowly unraveled into something painfully heavy. That realization sat with me, because the laughter at the start only made the sadness that followed feel even crueler.
I finally found the courage to continue watching and finished another episode. It wasn’t easy to press play again, but I’m glad I did. Slowly getting through it, one episode at a time.
I’m genuinely obsessed with the end-credits dance. It feels like such a refreshing and unexpected touch, especially in the Chinese dramas where i usually rush to hit “skip to avoid spoilers.” For the first time ever, I actually found myself watching the credits all the way through instead of jumping to the next episode. The choreography is charming, the music is uplifting, and the whole vibe just leaves you smiling without even realizing it. It adds a unique personality to the show and makes the ending feel just enjoyable Honestly, it’s become one of my favourite parts to look forward to.
I never expected to say this about a costume drama, but the world-building is genuinely outstanding. The writing crafts a setting that feels expansive, lived-in, and believable, making it easy to lose yourself in its atmosphere. The production team elevates that foundation even further with breathtaking cinematography that captures both the grandeur and the intimacy of this world. From serene, star-filled nights to sweeping shots of deep, shimmering waters, every frame is thoughtfully composed and visually enchanting. Each scene feels like a deliberate work of art, pulling you deeper into the story until the world feels entirely real.
The demon-hunting team genuinely became the soul of the drama. Their effortless camaraderie, teasing banter, and the quiet ache they carried beneath the surface created a bond that felt remarkably real. Every interaction showed how deeply they relied on one another, turning their mission into something far more human and emotionally grounded. As the story unfolded, watching their relationships grow and shift added a meaningful warmth that elevated the entire narrative. Their unity wasn’t just written for the plot; it felt lived-in, earned, and heartfelt, making the audience root for them not only as fighters, but as a family.
Sometimes actors deliver performances so powerful that you completely forget they’re acting at all. That’s exactly what happened to me with this cast. Their emotional depth, subtle expressions, and natural delivery made every scene feel lived-in and genuine, as if the characters’ experiences were unfolding right in front of us. I found myself drawn into their journeys, reacting to their joys, fears, and heartbreaks with surprising intensity. It’s rare to witness performances that blur the line between storytelling and reality so seamlessly, but these characters truly captivated me and held my attention from start.
There is honestly so much I want to say about this drama, yet I still haven’t found the courage to continue watching it, let alone finish it. Every time I try to move forward, the emotions it stirs up hold me back. The story is powerful, the characters are deeply layered, and the impact is heavier than I expected. I know eventually I’ll return to it, because it truly deserves to be seen through to the end, but for now I’m giving myself a moment to breathe. Sometimes a drama is so overwhelming that you need time before diving back in.
Poor Pei’s little brother truly didn’t deserve the mess around him. Rewatching everything made me realize how much he was quietly dealing with. He was always caugh into chaos he never asked for, and it’s clearer than ever how much he was struggling beneath it all. He tried and carried the weight anyway. Now I genuinely feel sorry for him and see his character in a much softer light.
Not me downloading Yuanzhou’s Youth offline just to play it on repeat. Every single time I listen, it hits me straight in the heart all over again. I can’t get enough of it, honestly and I keep listening to it because it’s too beautiful.
When I feel like I can’t continue watching, I rewatch the comedic episodes and often revisit the moments when the characters were more happy. Those scenes give me a brief emotional escape and remind me why I became attached to the story in the first place. They make the heavy parts a little easier to endure.
Everyone in this drama is suffering, and the weight of their pain is immense. Each character has endured insurmountable trauma, carrying emotional wounds that shape every decision they make. Watching their struggles unfold is both heartbreaking and compelling, because the storytelling captures their despair so realistically. It’s clear that portraying such deep and layered emotions requires extraordinary effort and dedication from the actors. They bring each moment to life with remarkable nuance, allowing viewers to truly feel the characters’ anguish. For that, they deserve immense praise. Their performances elevate the entire drama and make the emotional journey incredibly powerful.
Apart from everything else, the OSTs are absolute masterpieces, especially the ending ost. I adore it so much that I’ve been listening to it on loop without getting the slightest bit tired. I’ve never really paid attention to drama soundtracks before, but this one completely changed that for me. Now I find myself searching for the songs, saving them, and listening to them religiously. ZYZ’s track in particular has become my favourite, it's beautiful and emotional, and perfectly crafted. It adds so much depth to the drama that I can’t imagine watching it without the music that now lives rent-free in my mind.
