Ah, I finally saw it at xhs. Rong Zishan came to visit him at Glory set.

I just dont understand why some comments mentioned about Zishan spilling Xiao Hou's private secrets(?) during Divas. I have too poor memory. I thought their youngest brother is just too introverted and still developing his EQ but was still a decent brother to Xiao Hou.

i feel the same. but there are times that i see the face i got used to. then not again.

i tried comparing his facial features, it seems the same.

and his "looks" changes with his outfit. i am thinking that yeah, makeup. and lighting. especially when the sun is too bright and he wears light colored clothes and makeup.

yeah, they didn't even show what those thousand eye traps could do. like... he's supposed to be strong, but his use so far was to stop that dagger from hitting his dearest.

but his quick change of heart, i understand. there's too little time to have better transition and storytellibg, but it is basically him understanding the consequences of fighting against the alliance. they promised to keep the demon clan safe, so he chose to sacrifice all for his beloved.

from here, you can understand that the life of his love is more important than, say, staying together.

i agree with the comment above, though. would have been better if these guest roles are support that have longer stories and more solid background.

i'd watch this for shen yue (and xiaowen, because i am curious how he acts... afterall, he will play xie lian, one of my favorite xianxia character). but honestly, hoping that there's another tiny possibility of seeing the spider lord again haha.

i think leon acts well, too. i knew him from tendays. and wondered why he wanted to see minghao and yue there. turned out it is because of this play haha.

maybe it is also because i remember yuanzhou. it is dying again for the person he loves. but even so, his sincere and tender smile as he faded away was enough to break my heart. i hope he gets happy ending in his next projects. always bittersweet ending for him. why does he choose these kind of painful roles. 😢

i thought i'd have problem with the dubbing. but minghao didn't even need to say anything to make me cry. poor baby got his demon core taken again. but he was sooooo good here.

as i mentioned in my other comment, such a short time to build character, but i felt so deeply for him.

i watched the first two episodes for minghao. such short scenes to build character but i cried like shit.

I honestly don't mind him not having english name. Hou Minghao is easy to remember. And the name means a lot. If it was me, I'd like to be known by my given name.
