They are in the same agency and I think they are friends. It's all planned...(still a bit disappointed though).
i think it also depends on the audience, i've noticed he's been getting more support lately especially with how much research and respect he put into his role as hyunju in squid game. a lot of squid game fans have been supporting him so i guess it just depends who us watching and what their opinion is about him.
