Thai bl actors have had plastic lots of surgery to look "less" Thai. A lot of the good looking actors are of Chinese ethnicity. Very few bl actors represent their ethnicity and its a big problem. They chose the white looking actors. (as an observer its a problem in all asia - even China)
thanks for explaining to us that being southeast asian is an embarrassment, and humiliating. I would not have know that from his comment but I understand it from yours that to be compared to southeast asian is insulting.
PS the Thai bl actors who have had plastic surgery to look "non" Thai and Chinese looking. A lot of the good looking actors are of Chinese ethnicity. But dont worry the same can be said about the Chinese actors who also use plastic surgery and injections to be white.
He said the picture made him look southeast asian. Is there something wrong and embarrassing about being and looking southeast asian? Is it an insult to be south east asian? If he said the picture made him look very north or south Chinese (or any other race/culture - english, italian, black ) would that be racist or embarrassing?
I didnt know until now that being southeast asian something to be ashamed off and the people their are inferior.
Why is it so hard for these people not to say something stupid?
I dont understand. Why is it racist? He said the picture made him look southeast asian.

EDIT If someone said a picture or drawing (exaggerated) made some one look intentially english, italian, japanese or european or black i would think its offensive or an insult - its descriptive. Unless you think looking like a particular "name race/culture" is something to be ashamed off.
Absolutely - there are laws in place and that official should be punished severely. As an individual he deserves…
I dont really know this actress and her situation but imagine if having a property in a one man company was legal. Then Cha Eun Woo would not have committed tax evasion and we would not be debating this anymore.
My issue is that these type of laws are unfair. And they exist.
PS I cant believe how much Fan Bingbing must have earned. I will look her up. Im going to focus on watching more Chinese dramas going forward as I also want to learn the language.

society and man decide what they define to be a "Crime". Its not always fair or objective but its made by those in power and usually for their self interest.
In the UK you get more jail time if you damage property. If you murder and are convicted, you could be out in less years. Property rights are more protected. The upper class made these laws in the past and continue to do so.
Can you imagine how the tax laws are written. Can you imagine how some industries and companies get government subsidies/ tax benefits and other favourable outcomes due to lobbying.
I am a freelance worker and I work through a company so I can write things off and I benefit from this system. I can pay about 5% tax while earning sometimes 3x what my friends earn BUT they pay about 45% tax. And its all legal. But is it fair. There is more theft the higher up you go.
We have typical "Daily Mail" readers in the UK that freak out at benefits fraud, but they dont care as much about company fraud. Or that Amazon not only underpays its workers, but they have put so many smaller companies out of business, use UK infrastructure and hardly pay tax. They freak out that £20k is stolen but overlook the billions lost in revenue. PS look up Panama files as well (although some was illegal)
If you trade shares - you are not allowed to profit from insider knowledge. Do you know that in the USA, Congress is allowed to trade shares using insider knowledge. Now that is not only unfair, but it means a conflict of interest.

lol - just enough to shame and punish a bit and deter the next person.
My biggest focus though is "what is defined as crime". That is what ideally needs to change. The wealthy are not evading, they are just avoiding most tax liability

I think a lot of people in the west would agree with you. But some are stupid and fight on the side of billionaires - especially americans.
I dont despise tax evaders as MUCH as those that make the laws that are unfair to someone who earns an average salary. They determine what is legal tax avoidance v evasion.
Billionaires and companies influence /bribe govts to make laws that have loopholes that they can take advantage off. Its crazy how many dont pay tax and its perfectly legal. They set up trusts and offshore companies allowing certain deductions to not pay tax. And they are not evading tax. They just dont pay tax like we do, and its legal. Focus on the big picture. The system is corrupted and instead we are distracted by a rich actor getting caught. While billions go unpaid and its legal.
As for cancelling actors - I feel sorry for them and I think its a bit extreme. I understand the anger but dont like to see people destroyed. Make them pay the tax and punish them by adding a premium for being "naughty".

I didn't see the program and not aware about content involved. Im not that invested in this actor (dont hate or like him enough) - its more the principles involved. I just read a post you made about this issue.
I think its unfair that certain tax advantages and loopholes are available for the more wealthy but not to the average person. I like that these issues are being exposed and that people become aware of the double standards in the law, and how the law is made by those who have money and power to be for their advantage.
lol - I know exactly what he has done (company and structure) is to avoid paying tax and I know what my verdict is. I should wait before passing judgement but I have common sense. I do feel sorry for him because of the situation he is in and the damage it will do to him.
I dont know korean law but if he got off, I would feel that the justice system is unfair. Anyway, the koreans are harsher critics then me.
He is. I wonder why MDL selects the worst profile photo - it does not do him justice.
lol must have been added by an antifan. I guess its one way of trolling an actor/actress + fans if you dont like them. I do wonder how its decided - who posts a photo and who can edit because the photos dont change often.

the other actor who has also been shortchanged here is Mark Jiruntanin Trairattanayon. He is so good looking but i would not guess by his picture. I dont know who decides on pics.
Let me share my few cents, I think it's def different than season 1, but it explores problems and messines from…
Thank you for sharing. I just thought it would be interesting to compare the two and my thoughts so far. I agree with what you say.
The first one was raw with a lot of angst. I understand why its not an enjoyable to watch for so many and why people would prefer this season 2. The original or first one punched harder, made me feel that roller-coaster ride. It was emotionally draining. So far this one feels more playful and like you said more fun. To me this feels like a gmm bl drama. It may come across as a criticism but its what gmmtv do successfully which is to please their bl audience. And you are correct that this one should be treated as its own thing. I wonder if the budget was higher for the first one?
Im curious and to see the mess going forward. I am enjoying season2 and i do like some of the actors .
If they are discussing the unflattering drawing that makes him look southeast asian then it changes things and it comes across as racist.
EDIT But i can still say a drawing makes me look French/African etc - but its unflattering - and its not necessarily racist.
If they said its unflattering because its southeast asian looking then definitely racist.
Thanks I didnt know that.

I have never tried and not sure if you can -or if you need permission.
You can then see what happens next or if there are any more steps involved.
