EXACTLY, they would not be able to pull off an episode like this WITHOUT FCC. Zhang KAi could pull this off but it would not be as funny. Also FCC has been leading the comedy in Keep running for 2 seasons already. Just recap any episode with FCC in it, and it is FCC who initiates the comedy. Other members a lot of the time would ride along with him.

Also he helps other members to get a lot of screen time due to his activity. Meng ziyi got screen time becaue he was constantly teasing her. Zhang Ruonan got more screentime BECAUSE she got paired with FCC and they were constantly bickering and he abandoned her. Just compare Wang Churan amd Zhang Ruonan screentime in that episode and you will see.

You should be able to differentiate on screen persona with real life character. This is why he is funny. Kwang Soo from running man was funny because of his persona. Does it mean he is a piece of Sh*T in real life ? No.

You think Ryan or bailu or SShayi or even Yuqi would be any different? I dont think you saw any of the previous keep running seasons.

This is not about ego. This is about being funny and knowing how to joke around with members.

You cant judge someones character through watching a variety show. Adam Fan is one of the best if not the best addition to this show. He is someone who can easily make jokes with others even the staffs. If you saw all the keep running seasons you would see why he was made the fake PD. There is no one who is as close and free to cast and staff to pull this off.

The money was prepared by CN and it was the 3rd couple who gave him another chance. But my point remains, YX was already trying hard even his whole family was. That trickery served no purpose at all. If they just gave him the money and sent him to the sea, the result would be the same. The added pressure wasn't needed. Also the bond between YX and LS would have been better, if they faced hard times together. I mean you love each other but dont want to suffer together, what kind love is that?

Yang family was another mess. They just vanished. and that makes the 5th sister arc meaningless. I mean she was beating people left and right for what. Also i will never forgive that YX never had any interaction with his sister? They were supposed to be closest siblings but there isn't even any mention of his sister .

Unfortunately made me question the Li family values. And ruined the whole experience.
But I must say 4th couple was one of the best written couples that I have seen. For that i will pretend the last 3 episodes dont exist.

Ruined the whole drama for me too. That sort of mentality from Li family makes them look like those greedy in laws we see from other cdramas. It seemed like the writers wanted YX to suffer more to match Leshan. But was she worth it? Her character had zero development. They could have at least given us a proper reunion with Li family to right the wrongs they did him.
Lost my respect for Li family there.

Unfortunately they did not show us a good reason for their actions. As a result the Li family comes off as selfish gold diggers. I mean its not like YX wasted his money or anything, he genuinely tried hard. He was just cheated by Li family. I don't see how that helps him grow up. That is just lazy writing to add some angst but at the cost of ruining the drama for many. In that regard Li family isn't that different from Yang family. Even when CN helped him, he didn't explain anything and later dialogue implies that CN helped him because he felt bad, not because Li family was teaching him a lesson. This just makes 5th couple reunion like a sour grape not a perfect match

I cant agree that it was a prank. From what i see Yang Xian genuinely tried hard. He was not a businessman and it is not possible to become a seasoned businessman overnight. They could have helped him or guided him to get back on his feet instead of scamming him of money. And it seemed like 3rd son in law gave him the money behind madam Li 's back.

I think it would have been a far better story to help him be a good person than abandon him to the sea to be a successful person. Like it was life threatening and dangerous for CN but suddenly it is okaay for YX?

I finished all the episodes & I enjoyed it a lot until ep 33. The last 3 episodes they messed up everything and unfortunately ruined the 5th couple for me. I disliked ( more like loathed)madam li in these episodes. Like he just lost everything and you just scammed him just to prove that he is not suitable for your daughter???? like what the hell!!!
So if 3rd son in law suddenly loses his business or if 4th son in law suddenly incurs the emperors wrath and exiled, will she make them divorce too?? This is classic selfish and gold digger behavior. He was your favorite son in law when he was a royal and now that his family has fallen , he is unworthy? That just ruined the whole drama for me there. It felt like it was about money rather than 'perfect match'
2nd I wanted more clarification for the emperor and his consort ending.
3rd the plot about brother returning could have been better and felt very rushed.

They could have ended it at episode 33 and it would have been 10/10. Now i can only rate it 7/10
