Immortal Ascension -Carried by the Male Lead Literally Everyone Else Was Just Luggage
What initially drew me to Immortal Ascension was its captivating beginning and the strong ratings it received. However, the quality noticeably declined after the first five episodes.
The inclusion of the female lead felt unnecessary her role was underdeveloped, and despite being introduced as more powerful than most cultivators, her abilities were never meaningfully demonstrated beyond the early episodes. Even the romantic subplot was poorly executed, with only one love scene that lacked context or emotional depth, making it difficult to believe in their supposed relationship. Viewers seeking strong romance elements will likely be disappointed.
As the series progressed, the story became repetitive and drawn out, with scattered pacing that made it increasingly boring. The villains were awkwardly animated in human form, which diminished their impact. Ultimately, the show revolved almost entirely around the male lead, while other characters felt like mere background support.
Overall, while the series started off promising, it failed to deliver on its initial potential and would not be my recommendation for those expecting a balanced, engaging storyline.
