On Sammy's Children's Day Apr 12, 2026
The new episodes, especially episode 6, reinforces my appreciation and adoration for the series and the protagonists. The seemingly simple, but subtle eye contact between them is truly to die for, and the top protagonist, He Chu San, seems to intimate more nuanced expressions in this particular episode, which I truly dote on. Awaiting the upcoming episodes to showcase more from them and the second couple!!!!

you word it so beautifully and i 100% agree with everything. i also saw quite some comments about how they find…
I think it could also be that the general audience seems to belong to a younger demographics as some cannot truly understand the maturity concealed in such series. Youthful and chemistry-orientated series are the niche recently, and even though I truly respect everyone's taste, I want them to reasonably open up more about why they don't feel connected to this kind of bls instead of discrediting it through spontaneous ratings that could steer others from actually watching it. Disconsolate narratives do not always mean that it does not positively transfer positive messages and emotional values. It predicates on self-interpretation, cinematic experience and understanding, whereby one's true thoughts and lessons could emerge. The comments seem to misguidedly underestimate the premise of the show with ambiguous and superficial comments. That truly saddens me and I hope somebody could read this comment and truly analyze the narratives of the series in a more positive light due to how underrated it is!!!!!!!!!

Well ofc it's bc of their budget. The novel has around 80 chapters which ofc is more extensive and in-depth. They…
I respect your opinion and it is valid that the budget only allows for a mere fraction of what the adapted version potentially could transfer to the audience. However, low-budget series does not mean subpar quality. Unfortunately, the narrative of the show follows a cliched progression through and through without any subtle pauses or moments for the audience to process the chemistry or feelings of both protagonists. They did have to cut out parts in order to delimit their presumably modest budget. However, how the directors arrange the scenes really hollows the the whole storyline out with disconnected, random and anticlimactic scenes that could be executed with better creative direction. The whole script and execution of each scene feel awkward with barely any intention and authenticity, similar to a thrown-together series for the sake of publicity and fan service. Catering to these two demands is not entirely egregious and unadvisable, but it just means that the directors do not care about the more critical bl fan bases that value uniqueness and genuine attention to the plot. I could an array of bl series that, albeit possessing scant budget for the series, execute what the manga or novel wants to convey. Recently, there are three chinese, hongkong and taiwanese bls that are premiering in the same timeframe, and this particular one is quite ''underperforming'' in terms of character and plot development. Definitely questioning the high reviews for this series, but everyone has different tastes and I truly respect that. Therefore, awaiting for the forthcoming episodes to see how the series unfold.

On Feel What You Feel Apr 10, 2026
One of the most awkward plot and chemistry I have seen in a bl series. I think everything feels rushed and hackneyed, definitely skeptical on how the hatred starts with the top being inferior and obsessive with not being the most talented, skilled and smart men in his sister's eyes. This storyline is okay, but how it dissipates into confusing and rushed reconciliation seems to too inauthentic. The cinematography seems AI-generated (from my perspective!!) with the out-of-place zooming-out and in as well as how each character portray their thoughts, feelings and words into each scenes. This is not for me, but definitely expects more from subsequent episodes.

Why the low ratings? It is actually really good! I'm so picky about what I watch, and I avoided it because of…
definitely?! This is the first time that I disagreed this hard with such ratings. Like is it not satiating your typical sexual and romantic bl vibes? (respect everyone's opinions but really need to point out specific parts that they don't like, because the plot is really giving authenticity, well-balanced storyline, etc).

On Wishing upon the Shooting Stars Apr 10, 2026
In regards to the plot, I love the depiction of every character, and the cast was well-chosen. Both protagonists, side couples and even side characters seem to contribute their own share of depth, acuity and meaning into the overall picture, especially the authentic interaction among the locals. The severed father-son relationship is steered towards lack of understanding and altercation, but incrementally healed as each of them gets the opportunities to latch onto each other's thoughts and feelings more genuinely after the shooting star's incident. Other scenes such as the personal psychological struggles and inner self-guilt shine through as one of the most intrinsic and constitutive part of the series. All these patterns intertwined seamlessly through the 4 episodes, especially in the later episodes.
Cinematographically speaking and chemistry-wise, this is one of the most well-executed Taiwanese series this year with the combination of angst-driven, but soft and fluffy, but authentically pleasing. Every scenes feel intentionally rustic and homely without (remind of the bl love tractor in terms of cinematographic execution. The chemistry between the main couple, He Xiang Yong and Chen Hao Wei, feels deeply yearning, genuine, nostalgic and melancholic contemporaneously, adequately highlighted through the flashbacks and flashforward to the current moments. Every interaction and thoughts are so well-placed without the feeling of haste and regret. The side couple, Li Wan Zhe and Hamaguchi Aomi, definitely adds a subtle drama and fun to the overall atmosphere (really surprised that they decided to cast a japanese character into a taiwanese dramas like these). All in all, really dote on the overall trajectory of the story and hope that the subsequent episodes keep with the momentum and progression that this series is heading towards.
Note: I saw some post surrounding the monotony and dragging storyline??? Respect everyone's personal opinions, but objectively, the plot is the best that it could be so I am curious why people doesn't like the overall vibes and pace (is it because the rustic scenes are not glamorous or perfect or is it because the characters are not having sensual interaction yet?)

I'm kinda with you overall. I'm also a little underwhelmed with the acting of the nerdy ML, but I think for me…
I can agree to some extent surrounding the top character as a taciturn kind of person. However, still, this is a dark-styled bl series and we need to see something nuanced in terms of his expression in the eyes or body language. There are a lot of spaces where he can intimate genuine emotions, emotional depth and subtlety, especially in his self-dialogue moments. All in all, not all reserved characters must be emotionless or awkward. An archetypal exemplar of this is the nerdy guy in the jbl ''Contrast'', who captures the romanticism and subtle concealed feelings in his expression and delivery quite well despite being inexperienced with being a protagonist before. This series is more plot-focused so I expected more from the cast and hope that in the forthcoming episodes, the acting will be more properly executed. Additionally, I don't quite mind the subbing as I went along with the series (kinda got used to it)

I think the acting, especially from the top protagonist, seems to be quite subpar. However, the plot is quite intriguing in itself, pivoting around the dynamics between a bookworm top-scorer and an illicit owner of a nightclub. These two characters is, in the surface, contradictory and impertinent to each other, but really showcases how the rose-colored lenses of love bridges that dichotomy and enables them to intertwine themselves with each other's lives and pathways. The ''gangster'' bottom expressed an unexpected emotional depth and his storyline seems to entice me the most considering his tragic encounters of his brother and sister's death.
