I dislike the ending of this drama because Lu Wuyi and Wu Wangyan are sisters, deeply devoted to each other and…
Wuyi and Wangyan's bonds are fake; those bonds don't actually exist because Jiu Ying altered all of their memories. How can you say a drama has a 'bad ending' just because the two of them forgot each other, when that outcome is clearly logical
How on earth do you think the first half was an illusion? That is absolutely flabbergasting. Iâm guessing youâre…
Is it the illusion with Wu Zhiqi? You missed a detail: they entered a 'memory' inside the stone. They took over bodies from the past, but they still look like themselves, which makes it a bit confusing at first. I think it was explained later in the arc that they became witnesses to the past. The reason Ji Ling became Manman and Wuyi became Dizhu from 1,000 years ago is because Ji Ling wanted to know Jiu Ying's origins. Meanwhile, Shiguang became his adopted father and Wangyan became shiguang's adopted mother because Shiguang wanted to know who actually massacred the Flood Dragon clan. I hope I guessed and answered correctly this time

Is this about the three characters that Yan An played?
⪠Yuan Wuhuo, meaning "No Regrets", is the actual real Yuan Wuhuo â the one we see growing old.
⪠Yuan Wuhuo, meaning "Nothing Regained" (or similar), represents the real Yuan Wuhuoâs obsession to free Ji Ling of the burden he took on, which was the very reason Ji Ling became so lonely. This is the butterfly guy
⪠Li Jie is also a obsession of the real Yuan Wuhuoâs obsession, specifically his deep desire to protect Ji Ling.
Â
And regarding Ji Ling and Chi Wen:
The Chi Wen we see portrayed by Tian Jiarui is actually a fake. He assumed the identity of the 9th Dragon because he was tasked to do so by the real 9th Dragon (the true deity whom we see in the flashbacks when Wu Shiguang obtains the Dragon Deityâs power).
Itâs honestly impressive how much of the plot you managed to miss while staring directly at the screen. Calling this 'criticism' is a stretch; itâs more of a public confession that you lack the attention span for basic world-building. âYouâre complaining about 'logic' while clearly struggling to grasp how high-fantasy stakes work. If you found the 'staring' and 'travel time' ridiculous, itâs likely because youâre used to stories that spoon-feed you every emotion. For those of us who watch actual high-level storytellingâlike Veil of Shadowâthe complexity of sacrifice and shifting allegiances makes sense. âTo you, itâs 'ridiculous' because your brain is searching for a 1+1=2 plot in a genre that operates on e^{i\pi} + 1 = 0. You aren't watching a 'bad plot'; youâre just failing a literacy test. Maybe put down the Xianxia and try something with fewer colors and more subtitlesâthough, honestly, even then Iâm not sure youâd keep up. Stay in your lane
this drama is soooo complicated I might not finish it, so all the first half episodes were all an illusion and…
How on earth do you think the first half was an illusion? That is absolutely flabbergasting.
Iâm guessing youâre referring to the 150-year time reversal? This is usually where people get confused. You might think LWY travelled back physically, but she didnât. Itâs more like she "possessed" the FOX TOY because she literally couldnât have gone back physicallyâshe didnât even exist 150 years ago
So no, there was no illusion in the first half at all, except for the 2nd arc (with Wu Zhiqi) where they were inside that stone realm or whatever.
I literally cannot move on, someone help me. ಠâ ŕ˛â ಠLetâs talk about Tian Jiarui, I swear Iâm so happy thereâs an upcoming drama of his called Soul of Nine Rivers! And can we please talk about the versatility of his smile?! In Journey to You, his smile seemed cunning, disturbing, and teasingâbut in here, itâs so cute, sincere, and heartwarming. Ghawd, letâs not even start about his acting because itâs just so good. Iâm honestly so excited about his new drama because this will be the first time TJR is starring in a series that isnât directed by GJM!
Iâve been anticipating this drama since 2025 after seeing Tian Jiarui and Chen Duling in the cast, and of course, GJM as the director. I was also excited to watch Ju Jingyi for the first time because so many people praise her beauty, yet a lot of them criticize her acting. I was actually quite surprised! When you hear people say sheâs "pretty but bad at acting", youâd expect someone with zero expressionâbut thatâs the complete opposite of what JJY showed in Veil of Shadows. She does have some flaws, but they are totally overshadowed by the good parts. For example: https://vt.tiktok.com/ZS9kcNMqN/ For someone like me who loves expressive acting, I really enjoyed JJYâs performance and will definitely check out her upcoming dramas!
Funny how you might be one of them too đ You dropped a negative comment earlier and now youâre using JJYâs…
Actually, I think that comment about GJM was misunderstood. I was joking because he finally gave us a happy ending, but it failed badly because it felt sugarcoated (implying that gjm is REALLY BAD at giving happy endings). Iâm actually a huge fan of this series and have been spent a lot of time explaining the plot to people on other platformsâI definitely didn't mean it as a negative knock on the show Lmao
KMS why did the rating drop to 8.1?! It was 8.6 just 5 days ago ಼â âżâ ಼
I swear, all the complaints I see are so nonsense and honestly just feel like an IQ problem. Like what do you mean you found the time reversal confusing?? It was literally so simple ಠâ _â Ęâ ŕ˛
Tian jiarui crying because of my journey to you đ
