You are absolutely right. I have felt the same way. I really did not like this actor coming into this drama - mainly because I hated the scumbag CEO character he played in Wok of Love. But the trait of a good actor is their ability to elicit feelings and emotions from the viewers. This actor has done that!
After today's episode. I will now officially revoke my MIn-ki is a loving father who cares about his child statement. More truth bombs come out about his real mindset about his son in his expositional conversation with GH in the stairwell. GH nailed him to the wall. MK was upset that GH and DS went to the hospital together and that DS is doing father things with the child and not MK. GH told him What she needed to hear from MK as a father was not all his concern about DS but his concerns about the child (How's the child feeling? What happened? What do we need to do to keep the child from getting sick).... MK response is basically keep the kid away from DS or I am going to take him away from you!

You know I thought that he was actually showing a little paternal love until today's episode as well as the preview . Then I realized that MK may not be motivated by his love for the child as much. This writer LOVES to use exposition conversations to convey the thoughts and feeling of these characters. Particularly using JN's conversations with GH and MK to let the viewers know what is really going in the heads of those two frogs. Today's conversation between JN and MK was a truth bomb. JN told MK that he was acting so out of character for him (I agree with JN) with his obsession with this baby (and it is more obsession than love). She said that this was more about besting DS than being a father to Cloud. Straight from the fingertips of the writer to the mind of the viewer through the mouth of JN.
We saw MK confront and call out DS in front of GH's house and se saw in the preview a very angry MK aggressively threatening a poor GH in the stairwell. I am sure this was after the ass chewing that he received from the chairwoman (and a possibly a threat to his job) for not staying married to GH and letting DS have a chance.
I just think that MK is a selfish bastard - he was a selfish bastard while his wife was carrying the child - and will continue to be a selfish bastard going forward. The birth of Cloud is not going to change his nature.

I think he would have a better relationship with GH and her family had he never married GH. GH mom hates MK and his family and is adamantly opposed to those people having anything to do with baby Cloud. This is all because of the way they (both mom and MK) treated her during the marriage! They were utter douchebags to GH and caused her all kinds of stress and pain and almost killed the baby. So yeah GH's mom is not a fan of baby daddy and family. She is in no mood to forgive and forget anytime soon!

While Chairman Hwang tries to figure out a way to get Gong-hee away from Dan-soo, Kyung-tae visits the prison.
