First half was exceptional, then ruined by overwhelming romance, but overall engaging enough
Per the title -- the drama set up for a great mystery with excellent action scenes throughout but by the middle, the romance ramped up so much beyond what would be realistic that it greatly undermined the drama. It was entirely unnecessary to the plot line and certainly with only 9 hrs of air-time, if there were to be any new romance developing, it could/should only be slight. There were also a few plot holes but overall still watchable due to engaging action scenes and underlying mystery plot.

(From a Sejeong stan and sageuk/fantasy lover) By no means a must-watch but some high moments
1. Plot: not for the sageuk/historical drama purists (my dearest, red sleeve, etc) -- the fantasy element of soul swapping, which was largely inconsequential except for key isolated moments, and the subsequent comedic appeal distracts from the plot at hand2. Acting: not for korean native speakers -- sejeong's acting is top-tier but her character speaks in a comedic dialect that consistently felt more tacky than cute; kang tae oh's character feels more like a jester than royalty
3. Comedy: while it definitely generated some of the funniest moments I've ever seen, the drama's insistence on focusing on comedy detracted from the plot and romance
4. Romance: because of the acting, despite their potential for chemistry, I just couldn't be immersed in it
Summary: drama started off hot until the soul swapping happened at episodes 4-5ish, then all of the ^cons started popping up and I largely had to start skipping through most of episodes 10-14, and the last 2 episodes more or less saved the drama for me
