Everything could've been better
Honestly it was pretty mid I guess. The build up of their traumas did not have a satisfying resolutions at all. Kanade father's excuse for being an a-hole wasn't a good one and it was just swept under the rug. And I absolutely can't stand passive mothers who let their husbands act that way and expect their children to understand. Like no ma'am. You married him and know him like that, not your children. She is just as guilty. And the resolution of Mashiro's mom wasn't satisfying either. At least she woke up and started to make change, but my man did not get any healing or resolution, he just accepted the decisions others made about his own trauma. I like the couple though, but yeah the kisses were annoying. I rather not have them at all. Times have change and I just can't just accept lip press as a kiss.I still enjoyed the watch for the most part but the things I listed really knocked this down for me. It really could have been better. The acting was pretty good except the kissing. Not mad that I watched it once, probably wouldn't rewatch it though.

The whole time I just wanted the acting to be better
This was solid and cute. Nothing too dramatic. And the age gap was done in a way that I could accept it. Though I did find the ML a little pushy at the beginning and his anger wasn't warranted to the extent of his anger. Dude you date someone young you got to treat them like they are young. Firm but not unreasonable. Other then that, like my headline I just wish the acting was better. Especially the MC. Very mid and awkward. Was this review helpful to you?
Better then people give it credit for.
Honestly, this wasn't bad at all. I think people didn't like how the main characters were loose before getting together. So people didn't not have empathy for them or understand why their characters made the decisions they made in the relationship. Which wasn't helped by the kinda mid acting. But the story was solid and I enjoy the character growth of both the main leads. Breaking the shells of the childishness and past traumas to love and trust each other. Their were some weird parts, but over all enjoyable and I can rewatch the whole thing. And I enjoyed all the side couples. Some cliche tropes are definitely in this, but I am old enough to enjoy stories anyway as long as it with in reason of the story. I enjoyed this alot. Was this review helpful to you?
Cute, Comfort, and a little Cliche?
I mean, if you go into this expecting the reinvention of the wheel, sorry this story isn't for you. If you want something comforting and cute, I say jump right in. The chemistry was fantastic and enjoy the slowish/ not that slow tbh burn of the Mains getting together. I for one don't mine cliche's if they are well done. Most stories are cliches anyway. I've literally read and watch thousands of stories. So they don't bother me. What I care about is how it's handled and how it's put together in a story along side character development. This was really well done. I could watch it again. Gu Jin smoldering gaze was *chef's kiss*. This drama was like sitting on a porch drinking your favorite hot beverage on a cool night. Soothing and had me smiling through most of it. Even the cliche plot points didn't bother me and weren't overly frustrating. They kept those part short and kept the story focus on our main characters we care about. Man this was a goody. Was this review helpful to you?
A Gem
Honestly, the plot was over convoluted. But it was more then made up for with the acting and the director/editor. The director/editor did their thing. So many excellent decisions were made in the making of this drama. I really want to applaud them. They did excellent. While Smart and Boom did their job holding this plot up, the director/editor nailed and bolted it to the sky. I really enjoyed it. I am glad they didn't drag out the tropes that already felt a little dragged. So far the best bl drama of 25'.Was this review helpful to you?
Better adapation
I must say....Yes this was better than the Thai version. Better acting, better characterization, and better pacing. I really enjoyed this one. I was worried cause Japan doesn't usually do NC that well. Well this one was fantastic, but more importantly I love the recharacterization of Kaishan. I got why he fell in love with Ai. In the Thai version I never understood why Mahasamut fell in love with Rak. There was literally no reason to. The acting was just better and natural. I never really felt any dragging of the plot like I did in the Thai version. The one part that I did feel the Thai was better was the confrontation with the father. It was definitely done better in the Thai version and felt more like an unleashed dog in that one. Very spicy. I also still love the part where Mahasamut was called a dog and he barked. Also the side GL couple in the Thai version really angered me. I thought at the beginning that the Japanese version was going to go that same route but they tone down the obnoxiousness a LOT, and I actually enjoyed them. But other than that, yep. I'm surprised cause the last Thai to Japan remake was not good. This one exceeded my expectation. While the Thai verson was a 7/8 to me, this one is firmly in the 9 territory. Was this review helpful to you?

First review cause of slander
I honestly almost didn't watch this one for the slander. Did some of the low reviews even watch the same drama? I mean sure Elyes was a promiscuous at the beginning, but he is single? So? Neither of the Main Leads fell for each other at the beginning. It took at the least 3 years for both of them. Elyes was only promiscuous cause of a broken heart but even if he wasn't I don't begrudge people that live that lifestyle as long as they are honest with their partners and aren't leading anyone on, and my man was clear with everyone, bluntly so. They were FWB's. The only questionable behavior from Elyes imo is when he finally realize his feelings and in his jealousy/ or wanting get a rise out of Pat, rubbed his nightlife if in front of Pat's face.BUT after he actually did the deed with Pat he stop everyone else cold turkey. So he never cheated on Pat even though technically they weren't even together. Everything was slow and consensual too.
Now can I complain about Elyes close mouth with his feelings, sure. He could explain things that could be misunderstood more to Pat.
Could Pat be a little more firm in his decisions or not jump to conclusions so quickly. Also sure.
They aren't perfect people which makes them human. They don't see the whole story like we do, so honestly a lot of the decisions they made, made sense even if it's imperfect.
This was a well written and pretty well paced drama. Is it the best drama ever? No. But it's very solid. Lots of sweet and endearing moments led by both main leads. I enjoyed the banter and flirting.
Rewatch value is a little lower cause the plot was just okay. So it's one of those if I have nothing else to watch I might rewatch again once every other year or so. But I could rewatch it and still enjoy it.
