Firstly, this show is not for everyone since its a suspense/psychological drama. If you are not a fan of this genre, you may find the series hard to catch up or not easy to understand. Secondly, GL is also a genre of this series and if you don't get the sexual scenes that you want, dont call it queerbaiting, since its really stupid to say so. Thirdly, now its the review part of this series: This series is wonderful and one the best drama i have ever seen in my life (and i have watch a lot of series and movies from Asian to Western). I myself am a fan of thriller and suspense genre so this series is my appetite. The cast has wonderful chemistry and amazing acting. The series has lots of explicit/implicit details, so you have to watch it really carefully so that you will not miss any important detail. This series is exquisite in using the "foreshadowing/call-back" method, a plot/scene/dialogue in later ep may have been told/foreshadowed in the previous eps. Keep in mid, its not complicated to understand and comprehend these details, you just need to watch it carefully and you will definitely get them. The filming, screenwriting, coloring, plotting, everything of this series is just so top-notch. You really need to give it a chance and it will either be a beautiful drama or a k-trauma (both are good since it leaves deep memory to you). Thank you Kim Tae Hee as a director, you have done a wonderful job in building this story with twist after twist in a way nobody can guess what's next. Thank you Hyeri, Subin, Hyewon, Woori actresses you all have done a wonderful job in bringing the characters to life and bravo to Hyeri and Subin you guys seriously have the best chemistry. Its like, as a viewer, i can really feel the characters and they are like my friends throughout the series. It does have one illogical detail in one ep but its a drama and i guess its supposed to be a bit exaggerated. Nevertheless, this series is a Masterpiece. I wish the cast success in their acting career and thank you for everything for creating such an outstanding series.
that was such a weird last episode beginning with seulgi drowning like it does not happen this quickly secondly…
Mate, i really think you need to rewatch the series again because from what you are writing, you really dont understand this series at all or watch it properly. Go join a FR community or maybe go on X to have a better comprehension of this series. Im quite lazy to write down and explain it all out here, so its best you should go on X.
Well, our interpretation depends on our real life experience and in real life i can "interpret" the person i like…
So basically what i mean is love can be any form. 2 asexual can be in a romantic relationship without any sexual attraction right? The director doesn't have to ask the actors/actresses to confess their feelings or kiss to affirm that the movie is about romance. The movie can be about 2 people having a crush on each other and never confess, and it can still be called a "love story", a "romantic movie". The way their eyes meet, the way they treat eo, the way they can sacrifice for eo, the longing feeling, etc are ways to implicate "love". If its a man and a woman then its BG. If its a man and a man, its BL. This show is a GL. Many BG or BL has a plot like that and people still recognize it as love, so its the same for FR.

Thats also a case. Have you ever had a secret crush that u have never confessed? a crush u never kiss? a crush that will forever stay at the back of you mind with memories , eyes, scent, lips, nose, voice, etc And that crush may also have the same feelings for you but sadly, your life path can never cross (due to circumstances and life choice) Even when you have family, that crush still stay in your mind and when you meet that person again, special feelings arise but still it will never bloom into something direct. There are many people have that kind of experience and thats also the plot of Past Lives movie, and will you consider it love? I will say its love. You dont have to say it out loud or kiss a person to confirm that its a romance.
Hahaha its so funny how some people think this drama is not gl and queer baited just because they dont get the kiss scene or confirmation of relationship that they want. Have you guys seen the movie Past Lives and Anora? In Past Lives, the main female and male lead dont even have kiss scene or any relationship confirmation, their lives even never crossed but the viewers still feel that they do have romantic feelings for each other. In Anora, Anora and Igor dont have kiss scene or relationship confirmation too, but their chemistry, how Igor eyes looking Anora, how Anora slowly being moved by Igor, the unspoken yearning is what makes Anora different from the typical teenfic romance btw Cinderella/Prince and gives Anora the well-deserved Oscar. So what I wanna say that Friendly Rivalry doesnt need a kiss or any relationship confirmation to be called a GL series. It is a GL series. Overal, the series has outstanding director, screenwriter and cast. One of the best chemistry couple on screen i have ever seen (including both gay or straight) and bravo to all the explicit/implicit details this series deliver.
