I thought I'd ask this question here since this place is active and does relate to the drama in a way. How are siblings numbered? It seems here it is boy1 girl1 boy2 girl2, girl3 ,boy3 and so on. Are the genders always numbered separately or can it be boy1, girl2, girl3, boy4? In Road to Splendor, she was the 9th miss. Does that mean there were eight girls before her or just eight children in all?

The hate for episode 39 is off the charts. LOL.

It has been a while since I watched a show and constantly learned something about history. This drama hit all the marks and has a good re-watch value.

The drama is good, but I wish we had a scene with the leads, third sister and Marquis, and Han and Lady Dong working together. It's implied that ML and Han worked together but I would have liked to have seen the couples interact.

It seems they combined the inspiration for Hongxi and Xuande. Hence the rebellion of Han happened during "Hongxi's" reign here. They also mentioned that he liked crickets but still knew how to reign which also reflects the father and son emperors.

This is true. And it is interesting people find it so easy to hate Yuan for taking concubines but excuse male lead as being desperate when he took FL's freedom. Nevermind that she is traumatized.

Someone posted helpful information about eunuchs since this is obviously inspired by early Ming. If you keep getting confused by plots and action then you may want to look up the Hongwu and Yongle Emperors and what they did. FL's play is a reflection of what happened to Liu Bowen because Hongwu was paranoid. Yongle overthrew his nephew and it is said that he searched for him forever, thinking he was still alive. Hongxi emperor pardoned families killed but reigned for a very short time. His brother the Duke of Han revolted against his son and lost. Xuande Emperor was called the cricket emperor and he deposed his empress without just cause, and it is his son that almost ruined the dynasty because of eunuchs. So, the drama follows history a bit, but not trying to be accurate.

Twenty people buried here? Who are the others buried? Other sons/wives that were not at the residence? In the image she sees of her family there are not twenty people so I was wondering since the servants were sold off.

LOL. In the first picture why do they look like being scolded by mom?

I am sad Qingxiang (I think that is her name) died. I was hoping to see more of her after what she had to go through, but she ends up murdered. I am glad those Zhao men were killed, considering what they did to her and those other two maids.

I may have too, to be honest. I'm tired of that type of story. Also, I need more male characters to root for that are not servants of ML(every drama seems to have those). At least we have Yuan too. There are plenty of women to cheer for.
