I did not say this wasn't evidence, I wrote this isn't primary evidence or what people will a lot of weight on. the consensus for koreans seem to be the photos weigh the most, the texts, the testimonies, and then the letter. for mdl users, it seems to be flipped which is why i am explaining.

i dont think anyone thinks ksr was a stranger? even ksh's side acknowledges she was a friend. i'm not sure about how common practice it is in korea to write letters as a regular soldier with the access of smartphones but i have seen movies, drama, reality shows, where writing letters to family and friends is common practice. some people even provide "care packages" to the soldiers. it's cultural differences. again, the strange aspect is the fact that he was her friend and close enough for him to think about and send letters to, rather than just texting it.

I'm not sure what koreaboo is. but interpretation is difficult and even if the translator was fluent in korean, they didn't account for the difference in grammatical structure.
here is a brief grammar lesson. in korean, the verb and the object is flipped. so if you wrote "the cat likes to eat tuna." in korean it would be "the cat tuna likes to eat."

this is important because throughout the letter, ksh has a habit of using periods to emphasize the object or verb when he is trying to convey a loss for words. but this would be highly weird or creepy in english. if i said, "I just love... the way you dance and the way you move." the pause after "i just love" can indicate i'm thinking about what I love about you. but if i flip it around and say, "the way you dance... the way you move... i just love" is creepy as hell because this sentence structure isn't typical in english. by emphasizing the object, it becomes the point of focus in the sentence.
the problem is, in korean because the sentence structure is normally this way, when KSH pauses mid sentence it sounds natural, but the translator added the subject and object when they were missing, drew emphasis on certain concepts, and even shifted certain phrases to make it sound creepier than it actually sounds like it's a pedo restraining himself. in reality, the emphasis is not on ksh's "will," it's on "not bringing burden to ksr" because communication is difficult.

if we go with normal punctuations:
얼굴을 보기 힘든데 마음이 어떤지 내 의지가 어떤지 막. 부담주면 안되니깐.. 가장 말할 수 있는 건 보고싶어. 인가.

even if if you don't know Korean, you will notice the original has 4 periods. In the translation, there are 5... Not only that, they separated "what your feeling" and "what I'm willing" as different points even though the korean is actually something like:
"it's hard to see your face, but (your feelings) (my will/intention) i shouldn't just. make them burdensome."
in otherwords, no matter what the translation is, "feelings" and "ksh's will/intention" must be together as one subject, but the translation separated them.
finally you have a single 인가 at the end of the sentence. 인가 is a conjugation to turn something into a question. you can consider it similar to raising your tone when you put a question mark.
ex. what is your name. vs what is your naME?
So if Koreaboo was doing a "direct translation" there is absolutely no excuse for them to make "I miss you" as a separate phrase. "I miss you" is always with "What I want to say the most."
You either say, "So I guess what I want to say the most is I miss you." or "What I want to say the most is I miss you. I think"

The translation is either poor or intentionally mistranslated.

i will post this here too because many mdl users think the letter given to ksr as a minor is undoubtably a love letter and there is no room for doubt, but the direct english translation isnt the same as the korean.

Unlike mdl, Koreans don't think of the letters as primary evidence. they put more stock on the photos and then they think the letters can imply grooming given the photo evidence. now that ksh's side is denying that the photos were when ksr was underage, people are waiting for ksr's side to get a confirmation with forensics or show the other evidence that they have.

dont get me wrong. a grown adult writing a letter to a minor is definitely strange and suspicious but we shouldnt draw to the conclusion that he's grooming her without evidence.

No, you're the one not undersranding the situation. ksr sent a text asking if ksh played a role on shortening the repayment plan. ksh does not respond and that is all we know. there is a possibility he could have had her blocked, didnt see the text, and played no role on the legal and financial side of GM. that is why we are investigating..... to see if ksh played a role or not. no one, including ksr's side, is claiming ksh undeniably played a role. they pin it on gm and they think ksh may have been involved.

i wouldnt go as far as say its entirely damning because we dont know what ksr's side actually has and its currently under forensic investigation. but if they really have a diary and physical evidence to corroborate the diary, it would be best case scenario for ksr's side.

I explain it below but it could be that they are suing the family for the photo because it's easy to prove and win, and they are hesitant about suing for defamation because ksr's side supposedly have a diary, witness testimonies, and other physical evidence. so the parents conducted a reasonable investigation and did their due dilligence to believe that ksh groomed her. lets hypothetically suppose ksh really didn't groom her, that's still not enough to hold them accountable. it's not like the parents made everything up. it would be a reasonable mistake.

no, media play is to put the charges you think will stick and win on the headlines so that the media following along will focus on that charge. but that doesn't mean that's all your charges. you can include weaker charges, but you would try not to draw a lot of attention to it because you're not sure whether it's going to stick. this also doesn't mean ksh is guilty because even if hypothetically ksh didn't date ksr as a minor, ksr's family alleges that ksr had a diary and recorded everything. based on the diary and how close ksh and ksr were when she was a minor, ksr's family has enough evidence to believe and testify ksh and ksr dated when ksr was a minor. and unless ksr's family lied or fabricated the diary, ksh's team will have an uphill battle.

until we see the court proceeding docket with the actual charges, you can't assume the agency won't sue the family friend. there are mentionings of a defamation suit against the "aunt" for spreading rumors.
