I’ll probably finish the series but dang there were so many sound effects, cuts, and repetitive scenes that I found annoying just in the 1st episode

I wish we had gotten to see the main leads be together at the end!!! They were crack to me seriously I loved their chemistry and their story.

I'm still going to watch and enjoy the rest of the drama, but I would say that it's been good when it could have been great. There are many cool characters, moral dilemmas, and supernatural elements but I think they aren't being used very well. I like the romance too, but I almost wish some of that time was given to developing the other platonic relationships within the show. I do love the villains though -- I wonder if the show is going to attempt to give any of them a happy ending, because really they are just trying to live and survive (not that I approve of their methods lol)

not going to read the rest of the comments in case of spoilers, but just have to say zhang li (li xi rou) is killing it as a villain. She's super manipulative and so creepy and scary when she's mad. She's also not being evil for evil's sake, she has motives that I think make sense from her position. okay villain appreciation over just love her

He was nearly killed by a woman but had a beautiful, striking portrait of her painted lol you're right about that

I think this is a a good explanation of the fast development and the framework of viewing cdrama relationships that I forget about. I prefer super slow burns so when it happens quicker than I expect it's not always my favorite! But I like this couple a lot so it doesn't bother me that much here :)

I see how her bravery and kindness could make him not view her as someone worth working with, and how her tragic past and current circumstances warrant pity, but I wish I understood how/when the sympathy turned into love!

He seemed to be in love with her even before that heart to heart on their little romantic boat trip, but I agree that they're both similar in a lot of ways that make them a good match. They were immediately biting each other after all

I thought it was a strange stylistic choice too! their palace staff must always be fanning them off screen lol

I was convinced that the ml and fl knew each other before she lost her memory because in my opinion he fell in love with her way too quickly lol! It makes sense why she fell in love with him -- he saved her and helped her out plenty of times, he supported her through her friend group breakup, and he was always concerned with her well-being, etc. From his perspective, I'm struggling a little to understand why he fell so hard for her that fast. If someone has a different view, I'd love to hear it. (And if the explanation is because in dramaland everyone falls in love quickly then I'd understand that explanation too lmao)
