For me and many others, the story and characters are unique, with a lot of irony, humor and fine acting. I’ve watched many, many Kdramas and this for me will be hard to say goodbye to. I recommend giving it a good chance.

I think they considered the capability of the actors over their actual ages. This is not actually unusual, and aside from WS being Sunnae’s son, which was mathematically impossible, the actual ages of the actors if they are doing a good job is irrelevant to the story that we have committed ourselves to for the past nearly 7 months.

A couple of thoughts: Sunnae in her ‘created’ role actually (ironically) carried forth by embracing and embodying the worst characteristics of the society that had previously been unobtainable. Also her reaction when ManEun ran down to rescue the man who was revealed to be the Chairman’s father was disgust. She not only wasn’t the one who rescued him, she would never have rescued him and would have walked past. She couldn’t understand ManEun at all.
I will miss this group - the comments over on Queen's House are horrible - people cursing at you and getting mad…
I’m planning to watch The Women Who Swallowed the Sun next and was going to dive into Queen’s house too. Maybe we can all transform that group. Are you enjoying it and your favorite actor?

My conception of what the last episodes would bring didn’t include a heavy dose of criminal activity or the criminals themselves, but a leisurely focus on the new couples, their parents and the children. Any amount of that along with the exploration of newly formed relationships like with SW’s parents and Ms Oh on Monday will be greatly appreciated (maybe even another revelation) although hard to imagine with SG’s continued disruption.

Although I completely agree with you that women (and men) in a class-based patriarchal society with seemingly no path forward for those born into the lowest strata of that society may choose a morally questionable path to break free of circumstance, the criminal choices that Sunnah was willing to make and the utter disregard for the people she harmed and attempted to kill and her lack of empathy and compassion make her a virulent sociopath, not an example of a woman making choices that lack morality.

Sunnah also was effortlessly capable of stealing opportunity from her supposed friend; callously leaving behind her son, Dong Soo, with absolutely no concern or regard for the harm she caused him; trying to kill both her partner and her friend’s partner to eliminate the possibility of discovery; showing at minimum reckless disregard for the life of SJ’s pregnant mother and negating the life of her daughter, SJ, so that she could replace her with her own daughter while, without a trace of conscience, stealing their world and burdening Man Eun with the care of another child. Also many years later, without conscience, she, along with her daughters, added insult to injury by going to extremes to cause distress and hardship for Man Eun, her selfless and protective friend, SJ and family. Man Eun exemplifies a woman, in a situation very similar to Sunnah’s, making ‘lemons out of lemonade’ while shaping her world by loving, nurturing and supporting her motherless children and those around her.
I’m thinking that (because of the dream like background music and SJ’s lack of reaction) this was at the very least not fully realized and someone’s dream or fantasy…
