Sure trust is built by time but you don’t get to wrong someone for things they never did, let the whole school shame her not once but twice by 2 different incidents (“stealing someone’s bf” and “causing someone to lose a job opportunity”), and never take accountability for your action (he never apologized to XG after everything he put her through). He doesn’t need to trust her fully but can decide to stay neutral in the interview incident or a defend her in the love triangle gossip because she did not actually steal anyone’s bf. I understand a part of the 2ML character because during college, i was also jealous of my roommates’ or other friends’ situation since they came from a wealthier background than me and a lot of things came to their hands more easily than they did to me. I think this is normal for kids who come from more humble background to feel this way in college. But i learn how to regulate my emotions more as i grow up and also let go of my insecurities. It pains me that Huazi will definitely end up with Wanghe because of all the spoiler and interview I saw, but omg this woman deserves so so much better. I feel so sad for her.
