Literally, there are a handful of people just trolling the comment section to hate on literally the only Omegaverse production being made just because they can. No rhyme. No reason. Just hating to hate & spread all that hate. >.>
SO tired of the fake incest trope. Either go full incest or don't bother. Stepcest is the literal most pointless and annoying copout that has ever existed in movie/show/book plots. I will forever hate this annoying trope! ESPECIALLY when the characters didn't even grow up together but came together as teens/adults. That's even more of a copout. I would much rather see a blood relations plot where they have to navigate what that reality means. And there is no easy 'but we're not ACTUALLY related by blood' bs explanation to be used as a quick-fix. -eye roll hard; Go 'Flowers-in-the-attic' full dark no stars, or don't bother because this cop out is overused and pointless. If you want to shock people, really shock people! Don't just do the bare minimum, please and thank you.

Viral absolutely doesn't mean something is valuable but I have seen plenty of Omegaverse that is well plotted and thought out, not just straight up problematic porn. It is a trope just like any other. Take vampires for example. Twilight was absolutely atrocious but there have been other works that came along & did so much better with the trope. One terrible or problematic portrayal of a trope doesn't make the entire trope without value. Omegaverse hasn't just stuck around and gotten worse, I've seen it genuinely improve over time under certain portrayals. It's not going anywhere. And as for investors, I would say they don't know about it, not that they aren't willing to invest in it. Everyone can agree Fifty Shades, & Twilight were terrible, but there were still investors willing to invest in those projects and they walked away with a shitton of money. So, claiming Omegaverse isn't smart to invest in shows your ignorance, no one else's. If done right, a Hollywood movie with Omegaverse in it would walk away with as much money as Twilight or Fifty Shades, hands down. It would take the world by storm, probably whether it turned out as cringe-worthy or amazing. Just because everyone would be curious to find out what the hell it is. Never underestimate the power of human curiosity. Because even if the first portral was terrible, I guarantee better portrayals would come along off the back of it and captivate people. For better or worse.

Omegaverse is anything but shallow! Some of the Omegaverse authors have done extensive world building in their novels & carefully thought out deep engaging plotlines. Early Omegaverse fanfics were problematic & shallow with mostly porn & no plot but what has been built & expanded on over time far exceeds what it started out as. & honestly, insisting it is a straight fetish trope is just ridiculous. Omegaverse isn't solely a gay genre to begin with. There are het Omegaverse fics, too. It caters to every sex regardless of sexual orientation. If anything, in the gay male case, it caters to a gay couples fantasy of being able to have their own children.

It's a HUGE niche. A lot of people won't openly admit to liking it due to hate, this comment section is a perfect example of my point. It is already a lot more mainstream than anyone wants to admit & would make boatloads of money in the mainstream. Fifty Shades was criticized & hated by lots of people at the time but it still made a shitton of money because a lot of us just like what we like & will go & see it without caring what the louder people think. I think a perfect example of how popular omegaverse truly is, is the vast amount of fanfiction & fictional works that exist on the web. I've seen more & more popping up over the years, not less. It's literally one show. It's hardly going to turn into an 'all they make' sort of thing. From the sounds of it this only happened because the author funded it herself & pushed for it to be made. That likely means production companies aren't jumping for these kinds of dramas to be made on their dime, so this will probably be a only one to exist type of thing. So, there isn't a need to be this stressed about one omegaverse show. Look at Pit Babe. That was supposed to be Omegaverse but apparently they've backtracked & made season 2 with no omegaverse elements any longer. So, I think your ordinary gay shows are safe.
