It is produced by a Taiwan production company and it is unclear if it was filmed in Mainland china or Taiwan but it was filmed with authentic Chinese actors and will be distributed outside of China. That's how they are getting around censors. At least that is what I've heard from various sources!

The first being it is a Tawan production company that filmed in Mainland china with Chinese actors but is capable of releasing because they are not a Chinese company. The second version is that this was filmed in Taiwan with authentic Chinese actors. I have no idea which is correct but one surely is.
