Rating is low cause writing is kinda lackluster, everything else seems okay but nothing special.
DYX kept refusing but his studio forced him. His costumes were ill fitting so he had to commission new ones himself. In the end after 4 months of filming which included suffering heatstroke and actually being shot in the hand with an arrow by a careless extra, they left the majority of his scenes on the cutting floor. Chinese fans are so mad (lots paid through the nose for special screenings) that they actually came up with charts laying out how much screen time he actually got.
I just recently started and episode 1 also hooked me. I, unfortunately, read through the comments before watching.…
When I rated this to say I was abandoning it, I chose the option 'no' when asked if I had watched all of it. Yet after I posted, it showed up as 40/40 and I can't change it!
Don't know why it shows up as watched all 40 episodes when I chose the option 'no'. After my initial review, I…
Still, editing was a bit disjointed. Anyhow, a cartoon meme came out today was pretty funny though. Artist isn't actually a DYX fan per se but still picked up on the topic. 海棠有梗成这样,看完真的气笑了 大可不必再刀我一次 ... http://xhslink.com/o/6wNlsTFCFX8 Anyhow, am trying to steer hubby towards cdrama but so far have only managed to get him to watch kdrama. At least he's on his third. An oldie but goodie, Vincenzo. I might get back later into Shan He Zhen just to see the ending. Might as as well.

Yeah, I learnt from this show the importance of billing placement. I am a fan of DYX's meticulous acting. Really looking for to Southern Anecdotes/ Archives early next year. He's also 2nd billing there though. Just hope it lives up to what I've watched so far in bts.

Found one of the posts in my recent history. I didn't bother looking for the other actors. I just watched the show and moved on. 谁来替卫韫做主呢? 爹爹和哥哥们当初不如一起带走小... http://xhslink.com/o/7yHZKcFhbhA

Unsure. There were lists of total scenes filmed, number of script pages by main and supporting actors. They measured DYX's screen time per episode, both with other actors and solo in minutes and percentages. I never quite grasped how obsessive Chinese fans can be until now. Some posts sort of popped up on my feed. I read and kept on scrolling. Didn't save it. Seems there were 3 directors and several screenwriters. Book fans weren't exactly happy either. What surprised me is how heavily the show promotes DYX vs how relatively little screen time he actually had. I'm sure lots of people enjoyed the show. It's just that personally, I expected something different?
I am just a tad bit confused. The review indicates that you have gone through 40/40 episodes but you said you…
Don't know why it shows up as watched all 40 episodes when I chose the option 'no'. After my initial review, I continued till ep29. Ding Yuxi spent 4 months filming this, even got injured by an arrow. Yet, final metrics (recently compiled by Chinese fans) show that all the scenes he filmed were cut to a mere 2.5 hours screentime in total by the end of the 40 episodes, including closeups of his hands and back. Why then list him as a main lead?
The drama started off strong and full of promise. The FL was perfectly cast, strong, mature, and endearing, and…
Yeah, I am only in a few episodes and feel about the same. Ding is brilliant as usual. Surprised a 30 year old could pull off playing a 14 year old as well as he did.
