How can you saranghae someone after a few DAYS (not even weeks) of dating? She's anxious and love bombing this…
October 14, 2024: First meeting on the subway. January 2025: Reunion at a restaurant (Chacha says she is busy with a launch timed for the spring moving season; appreciation parties are usually held after the semester ends and before graduation). Around February 3: Yujin contacts Minjae; Sejin comes looking for her during the blind date scene. On the same day, Sejin says, "It is still early spring, so the water will likely be cold." Danny gets crushed. Monday, February 10: Professor Ahn meets Professor Kang to gossip about Yujin. Minjae meets Subin. The graduate school application being submitted in Yujin's room has "Submission Date 2/10" written on it. Tuesday, February 11: Yujin and Sejin's exam (Good Will Hunting). Friday, February 14: Yujin welcome party and a kiss under the streetlamp. Monday, February 17 (Minjae KakaoTalk): Yujin and Sejin's first meeting; says they don't remember the kiss; fight on the street. Tuesday, February 18: Minjae completely gives his computer to Sejin; visits Professor Malmo to comfort Yujin; goes to "Dieland" (Minjae's birthday). Sunday, February 23 (presumably that weekend): Went to the department store to buy a gift for Minjae; excited looking at selfies with headbands; bought couple rings; received a call from Subin and went to meet her; heard about Minjae's leg; bought shoes and went to find Minjae. Monday, February 24: Apologized for leaving like that yesterday; Minjae says he wasn't hurt and pushes him away; Yujin starts having a stomachache; met Minjae's mom. Tuesday, February 25: Sejin talks about Minjae's mother. Chacha agrees to set up a blind date. Thursday, February 26 (Estimated) (Minjae's KakaoTalk on the subway shows Sunday, February 22, but February 22 is a Friday; since Yujin has appendicitis surgery and can't go to school the next day, it is likely a weekday). Minjae goes on the blind date and rejects the confession for the first time. Yujin has appendicitis surgery. Friday, February 27: Yujin calls to say she can't come to work because of surgery. Sunday, March 2: Professor Malmo visits the hospital. Yujin is discharged. Monday, March 3 (Substitute Holiday): Visits Minjae's house. Kissing. Tuesday, March 4: Yujin's older brother visits the school. That evening, Minjae rejects Yujin again. Saturday, March 8: Observing a meteor shower, comment saying it looks like the sun, hugging in the rain Sunday, March 9: Minjae's pain Monday, March 10: Yujin meeting Minjae's mother, news of Chacha's marriage Chacha's wedding presumed to be late March or early April Judging by Yujin talking about her mom, it doesn't seem like it's been that long. This is the timeline I got from one of the posts Sorry for the long post 😅😅
The powerful reason for rewatching episodes 3 and 4 of Romance Doctor.. We, as viewers, had more information than Yujin from the very beginning, and for Yujin, Park Min-jae was just the guy she liked from start to finish. That's why in episode 3, the emotions of the viewers and Yujin diverged.
To us, Min-jae's disability isn't information that suddenly appeared in episode 3; to Yu-jin, it's hugely significant information she's hearing for the first time about the man she likes. We were watching Yu-jin in a state where we'd already accepted that fact to some extent, but Yu-jin is the person receiving it for the first time in that moment.
The difference between what the viewer knows and what the character knows ends up creating the viewer's misunderstanding. We knew more about Min-jae's body than Eugene did, but we knew just as little about Eugene's feelings as Min-jae did..
In episode 1, we learn more about Min-jae, and in episode 3, we easily judge Eugene based on that information. At the end of episode 3, when Eugene runs away, the director doesn't show her inner thoughts and instead films the empty bus stop. In that moment, we come down from the position of knowing everything and become people who, like Min-jae, can't understand Eugene. In episode 4, Eugene comes back, shows the scar, Min-jae shares his own story, and they kiss.. Only then do we start to gradually catch up with Eugene's feelings.. The audience, who initially thought they knew more than Eugene, ultimately has to go back to the very beginning in order to understand Eugene's love.. Maybe the person who started loving Park Min-jae the most without prejudice in Romance Doctor was Im Yoo-jin, and if we were the ones who judged Yoo-jin the easiest, then... the director's choice to show us Min-jae's disability from the very beginning feels even more impressive all over again. If they had kept that information hidden until the end and revealed it together with Eugene, it would have just been a simple twist, but because they showed it to the viewers first and only told Eugene about it belatedly, we ended up having the experience of judging Eugene and then understanding her again... The story of viewers who thought they understood Min-jae but didn't understand Yu-jin, and as they come to understand Yu-jin, they start seeing Min-jae anew.. It feels like Love Doctor is a drama that, the more you watch, keeps focusing on 'seeing.' Even I, as a viewer, end up seeing my own gaze itself.. Cr. : @yuilhandal
It's not bad instead people are biased in ratings, based on 2 episodes imo it should get at least a rating of…
multiple reasons tbh this show till now is quite a fun and decent watch but people despite knowing its genre are aimlessly rating it low simply because they don't like it or it could be jealousy 😂😂and they want their faves' dramas to be rated higher, it could be any one of those reasons. Excuse my frustration 😤 😅
