On My Girlfriend Is the Man! Aug 27, 2025
At first, I didn’t want to watch this drama because it’s a gender-swap story without BL nuances. I’ve been so addicted to BL that I rarely watch straight dramas anymore, and I probably expected too much of it in that direction. Since I’ve been mainly watching BL, it makes sense that anything with even the potential for same-gender romance feels like it should go there — and when it doesn’t, it can feel like a letdown. That’s really just my own bias as someone deeply invested in one genre.

But I realize now: the absence of BL elements doesn’t automatically make a series homophobic. It’s simply telling a different kind of story. And actually, the drama shows something very meaningful — how love can remain consistent even when circumstances change. The male lead accepts his partner whether she is in female form or male form, which is admirable. Even if he isn’t romantically drawn to the male form because he’s straight, he still chooses to stand by his partner, support them through difficulties, and hold onto hope for their future.

I think that’s beautiful. It’s rare in this era to see someone accept their loved one completely, no matter what. This drama proves that real love means waiting, staying, and supporting through the hardest times.

Maybe I was being a little “heterophobic” by dismissing it at first, but that doesn’t lessen the value of this drama at all. In fact, it’s a very good story about unconditional love and acceptance.

Minju: I have no intention of using her flaw as weapon against her.A few minutes later.....Also, TF you mean by…
She is just ungrateful witch. She gets saved by Ji Eun everytime but yet she is focused to get JiEun's boyfriend. I just hate her character

I FELT THE SAME. SHE JUST DON'T FEEL SHE IS WRONG BUT THE ONE WHO LIKES HER IS.SUCH A PATHETIC PERSON.IFELT IT THE WHOLE TIME.SHE IS JUST WAITING FOR AN OPPORTUNITY. I can try and understand about Ji Hoon and Yoon Jae but this IDIOT JUST GETS INTO MY NERVES. IF SHE KISSES HIM OR ANYWAY HAS A CHANCE WITH HIM OR IF SHOWN AS SUCH, I'M GONNA STOP WATCHING THIS. ANYONE BUT HER I AM OK.

First time I have seen a series named after second lead and sideline couple
Even better short BL series are coming out on Korean YouTube these days. If they had a problem with the gay relationship, they could’ve just made a series called Students of So-and-So High or something.
이게 바로 좋은 배우들과 더 나은 각본이 있었으면 훨씬 잘 만들 수 있었던 작품이 망가지는 방식이다.

As a fan of the manga Who Can Define Popularity, I honestly can't stand how cowardly and unreasonable the director made Do Ba Woo. I really tried to be open-minded at first, thinking maybe the director had a different take, but from episode 1 to 6, it’s just been dragging on and frustrating as hell. In episode 1, I already felt like I’d be disappointed if Ba Woo ended up with Ha Min, and honestly, I didn’t even understand why Ha Min was in the plot to begin with. But by episode 4, I was just begging for the story to go somewhere. I didn’t care if it was Ba Woo and Ha Min, or even Ha Min and Ji Hun. Just give us something, for God's sake.At this point, I’m so done that all I can say to Do Ba Woo and Ji Hun is: 너 미쳤어, 제발 연애하지 말고 치료나 받아. 왜 이렇게 진짜 답답해.
Like seriously, you’re crazy man. Stop getting into relationships and go get therapy, please.
And honestly, maybe I need therapy too after watching this.
Just watch episode 1 and the last one. That’s enough to know the beginning and the end without wasting your time.
