Love is better the third time around
I binge-watched Season 1 so I could watch Season 2, and I absolutely loved the first season! But Season 2? I have different feelings about this one. This is where I realized that I would have been satisfied if this series had only one season. 🤣
At this point, Season 2 should be called Love Is Better the THIRD Time Around. HAHAHAHAHA! Because why are we dealing with an ex trope, not just one, not two, but THREE?! 😭
I can totally understand Miyata's feelings of inferiority throughout this season. I mean, even after years of being together, imagine being presented with THREE exes of your partner. FUCK THEM ALL. 🤣🤣🤣 I'd be questioning everything, too!
And Iwanaga isn't helping either. He's not exactly being secretive, but the way he's open with Miyata feels so calculated and selective. Like, sir, can you please read the room? Your partner is already struggling with his insecurities, and you're giving him more reasons to overthink! HAHAHAHA.
Though, one thing I really loved was how the series explained why Iwanaga broke up with his exes. Because, in the end, it always boiled down to one thing: he only ever loved one person, and that was Miyata. 🥹❤️ I love that the story made it clear that, despite all those past relationships, Miyata was the one he truly wanted.
I don't have much of an issue with the plot itself because, honestly, Miyata's reactions are valid. His insecurities didn't come out of nowhere, and I can understand why having to face Iwanaga's past relationships would make him question his place in Iwanaga's life. My issue is that, for a second season, there wasn't much of a WOW factor for me. I loved Season 1, but Season 2 didn't give me the same feeling.
BUT! My favorite thing about this season has to be Rui (Akune). HAHAHAHAHA! He did such a good job playing the sassy bitch ex! 🤣 He really understood the assignment, and I enjoyed every moment he was on screen.
