Pretty Good
For once the characters actually acted in a logical way and it didn't leave you saying "well that was stupid, why didn't they just tell the truth or talk it out." Female Lead was a bit too mousy for me and made Liu Yuning look like a giant. And at times you could see all the makeup everyone was wearing was thick! Loved all the generals and the Lady's maids. The story was good. Was this review helpful to you?

Great Watch
Finally I Chinese drama with a happy ending!!! Left me feeling satisfied and happy! I really enjoyed this one alot after watching. So many dramas let me down with all the main characters die or never get to marry their lover. Strong female lead, lots of twists and was a fun ride. The male lead has a cute smile!!š I loved seeing the baby at the end and the family all together! Such a good watch. Was this review helpful to you?

Finally some good acting
I think I enjoyed this drama even more because I had just watched two really bad ones where the ML disliked the FL at first and then suddenly fell for her with no real buildup. In contrast, Liu Xueyi did an excellent job portraying a wide range of emotions, and his acting made his gradual fall into love feel believable and natural. The FL was consistently perky, upbeat, and intelligent, which made her fun and refreshing to watch as well.
Overall, the story was solid. I was able to predict the ending, so there were no big surprises, but I still wanted more. They talked about marriage, growing old together, and having children and grandchildren, yet the ending felt incomplete and left me wanting a fuller conclusion.

Missed Potential
I thought the story itself was solid, but the casting really didnāt work for me.I found the female lead whiny and annoying, which made it hard to stay invested. As for the male lead, Iāve seen him in Love of Nirvana as well, and I have the same issue there: I just donāt find his romances believable. His acting feels very one-noteāheās constantly playing surprise that someone could like him. His emotional range seems stuck on āshocked,ā and when his feelings change, thereās no buildup. One moment he doesnāt like the FL, and the next he suddenly does, without any visible emotional transition.
In contrast, Iām currently watching Liu Xue Yi, and the difference is striking. You can actually see him fall for the FL bit by bitāhis expressions, body language, and emotional shifts make the romance feel earned and real. That gradual development is exactly what I felt was missing in Demon Hunters.
And then thereās the ending. Just⦠wow. The time travel conveniently resets everything, undoing all the emotional stakes. Having the ML follow the FL since childhood only to ultimately leave her made the conclusion feel pointless and unsatisfying. I wasnāt alone in feeling this wayāother reviewers have said the same. For me, the ending completely undermined the journey and made the whole thing feel like a waste.

It was good but my idea's were better.
I liked the actors and the story was good but I did feel that something were left hanging or didn't make since. The ending with the two princes fighting was unnecessary.Spoiler - someone else mentioned this and I thought the same thing! This drove me crazy! The FL painted the king 3 times. Seemed it wasn't working. She painted a picture of the ML who was possessed by the demon. I kept thinking that was the painting that was going to be used but no!! Makes since right!! Also why did her father because crazy? What was with that Goblin guy?

Enjoyed it even thou
I enjoyed this even though the emperor was an idiot and was letting his evil sister and daughter do whatever they wanted and then everyone still came to save him. I had to look past that part and enjoy the other characters. It wrapped up pretty good as well explaining the two lives so it didnāt leave me hanging. Also a happy ending which is also rare!!Was this review helpful to you?
Great Music
I started and stopped and restarted many times. I'm a Liu Yuning fan and I think he did a great job but I just didn't care for the female lead and the her storyline. She is suppose to be smart but dumb when it came to having and child. She kept trying to have a baby with the male lead without understanding what it really takes to raise a child. The story was slow.I actually really liked princess/prince Li. He Lan Dou did a great job. She was very believable and great to watch her grow.
Jason Zhang's music was fantastic. Alan Fang was funny. Chen Youwei was lovable.
