Someone on tumblr posted this :

obsessed that after getting "song daughter 1 has a love triangle with li shiliu/the 1st master of the wanning river crescent and the 1st prince" we're now getting "song daughter 2 has a love triangle with li shiliu/the 2nd master of the wanning river crescent and the 2nd prince" and its actually narratively reasonable

This blew my mind because I didn’t make the connection while watching it. Did anyone else make that connection?

Excellent comment there! I feel a major factor to watch this drama is to push our bias away and try to understand…
I think the beginning setup was so on point that it’s hard to imagine that they’re not doing the same thing during these middle parts as well, but in a dramatic way instead of comedic.

If this was the drama itself, I wouldn’t like it as much, but because it’s a critique, I’m really enjoying it.

This would not be a drama about biases and prejudices if people don’t disagree. We all come from different backgrounds and have different experiences that shape who we are. I think it’s important to look at our own biases and prejudices and think about what lenses we are viewing the drama/characters through.

I found this comment from a cnet that I google translated and completely agree with:
The number of famous scenes of "A Dream" and "A Dream of Qingning" is the same, but it should have been like this.

All the plots and famous scenes that Song Xiaoyu wants to change will be presented in a butterfly effect with her intervention, and in the end, she can't escape the script.

Song Xiaoyu still has the arrogance of the book and the perspective of God. She looks down on Nanheng and other characters. The audience looked down on the characters in the play, so the audience would think that she was stupid and didn't believe the hero; while Song Xiaoyu felt that the paper man was stupid and couldn't make them awake no matter how he was lobbyed.

When Song Xiaoyu really gives up the perspective of God and chooses to look at Nanheng at the same level, the real change will begin; when the audience chooses to give up the perspective of God and choose to look at every character in the play, they will understand what kind of story the play wants to tell.
