This is my second review here. The previous one was for the series Echo. As I had stated then , I am a European viewer with different preferences since I have watched mainly European and some American series. Again low rating for a perfect series ,considering the abundance of low quality cdramas. Actors of some age with amazing acting skills , so I guess they are considered veterans and not shooting idol stars in the filming industry. Complicated scenario, maybe for some, but very tightly gripped. I hope that I can have the chance to watch same quality series in the future.
I am a European viewer so my standards are different from Asian viewers. I am so disappointed with the low rating. This was an amazing series, from the beginning with the introduction music and the graphics in the titles. I would like to note that series with beautiful soundtracks are the ones that are most well done. The scenario well written, focusing only on the main plot. I don't know if it was from a novel. The dialogues, the silence, the glances, the body language, the lighting , everything supported a well executed film noire , Asian type .The wife acted like any normal woman. She was strong , decisive , mature, highly intelligent , with natural human weaknesses . Not a pathetic woman, a woman being manipulated, a woman tolerating unreasonable situations. She was suspicious, as any police officers should seek the actual facts and as any woman in relation is natural to be. And then I discovered this talented actress Song Jia. Maybe Chinese movies have excellent actors and actresses but in cdramas they are rare. And credit should be given to the director. They are mostly responsible for the outcome but we usually neglect them.
