Well the crown prince asked Dal I if she had parents again which implies that the Crown princess' parents were dead when they were married. In episode 1 when the king talked to his son and told him he had asked the crown princess to kill herself to save him, he also said that Lee Kang survived on the blood of the Queen, the crown princess and his father-in-law... So obviously something happened to him also maybe more recently than to the mother-in-law. So yeah, she had no parents left and maybe no other family

Sorry Lee Gang and Lee Woon are cousins. When Dal I understood that Lee Woon was a prince she couldn't understand how Lee Gang was an inspector, because royals don't have jobs so to say. So Lee Woon said they were cousins on his mother's side, so not to tell her that Lee Gang was the Crown prince

Exactly usually it takes 2-3 episodes in a 12 series I also appreciated we learn so much in the first episode. They left enough shadows in some parts for it to be intriguing.

I thought that for a first episode it was quite good. I'm glad we're not in "Is she is she not?", we've been given clear cards for some parts of the story, now let's see how they're played out.

It's not his mother, the two princes are not brothers as only one is the grandson of the dowager. We don't know what happened to the late king, nor why the Queen was killed and why the Dowager turned on her daughter in law. There are still quite a few mysteries here to be solved.

Is the Feb 16, 2026 date confirmed by tvN yet? I saw crew listings saying the shoot now runs from September 2025 to February 2026, previously from August to December 2025, so I’m not sure if that date is locked or just a planner hold.
