Agree with you 100%! you should see the comments of WHD fans against the other cast especially SY on Chinese social media and well basically fans of his or his CP with Bailu who don’t Like her. They are saying she is lazy and leaving all the work for WHD to do. Also saying this is a favor to Mango and Huang Xiaoming to help SY’s career. I mean if anything, WHD is helping himself. This is another variety show to build his amazing guy persona who is now growing into a mature leader. Don’t get me wrong, I like WHD a lot, but I feel like Dear Inn would be better if they focused on the ensemble struggling together instead of editing it like WHD is doing all the work, struggling alone. The first day theywere there, he showed up late and everyone came together to get things organized as much as they could before he got there. A lot of the problems at the beginning was actually due to poor planning and organizing on WHD’s part as leader. But that really can’t be helped because he has such a busy schedule and I guess thatstruggle is part of the story line so you can’t really prepare much.

it’s not a new concept. This is actually a reboot of a variety show from 8 years ago. Many of the variety shows on mango follow this format and many people like them. They’re pretty popular. Maybe you just like faster paced, competitive shows like Keep Running.

This is a Chinese variety show. You rated it lower because it’s not a drama when it was not supposed to be. Anyways, only 1 of 12 episodes have aired. It is about Dylan coming back and running an Inn because 8 years ago, Shen Yue and Dylan went on a variety show as workers for an Inn. 8 years later, Dylan is now the boss and Shen Yue along with a few others work for him. They will have a lot of their friends coming to visit throughout the season. I don’t know where you are from but its similar to a reality show. Hopefully, you stick around and watch it all tthe way through and enjoy it!

I agree. The casting for both leads could have been better in terms of what suits the story itself. But at the end of the day this isn’t just art, it’s a business. They chose popular traffic stars. Besides that, I think they couldn’t make this drama without someone like Dylan pulling investors. So for him to pull investors, he needs top billing. No one’s investing in an S+ drama if it’s Meng Ziyi that’s top billing because that means it’s success rests on her and she hasn’t proven that she can do that yet. I think I commented before somewhere here, but the only cdrama traffic actresses that can pull that kind of investment and be top billing is Bai Lu and Zhao Lusi. But Bai Lu has said she will not be taking on as many idol dramas. So that leaves Lusi.

No one is saying she can’t act. most of the things you wrote probably applies to almost all the actresses because c-ent is a cut throat industry. They’re all working hard, sacrificing and enduring criticism. The problem is that for this particular role, if they had to rewrite it so she can fit into it that’s the problem. Now that it has been rewritten to fit her, will she do a good job? Probably. Are fans of the novel disappointed? 100% they are. Becaue now this drama is only loosely based on their beloved story. You’re clearly a Meng Ziyi fan and support her, well there are people who are fans of this novel that are disappointed because as written in the story, the main character is younger and a main plot point is she was reborn. If rumors are true they did away with the plot AND obviously aged up the character. Its not Meng Ziyi’s fault, its the producers or whoever owns the rights to this dra. At the end of the day, It is what it is. Now the pressure for this drama to be successful is high and if it doesn’t do well, it could really hurt Meng Ziyi’s career.

well…they are the the ones this variety show is built around…since they did the Inn 2 together 8 years ago. It can’t be helped if their fans are excited. But I am sure when we watch the actual show the will feature all the cast.

Thats why they rewrote the whole script. I read they removed the rebirth plot and aged up the FL. I know MZ fans say we’re just hating on her, but it’s not. If they have to rewrite the script to fit an actress instead of the actress fitting it that is very telling. I understand why the cast Wang Hedi. They literally couldn’t get this project off the ground without a huge traffic star like him to draw investors.

It is because DW is the one that could draw investors to the project. I don’t think MZY can carry an S+ production. The only actress that can, under 30, is probably Zhao Lusi. I personally don’t have a good feeling about this project. I read somewhere they had to change the story a lot, not just for Dylan, but also MZY because for some reason they were set on her. I heard rumors they got rid of the rebirth plot because people were saying MZY has done too many of those, plus she looks more mature for the role as it is originally written.

I disagree. Her career was saved by Blossom, but before that she was not doing so well, so she wasn’t really able to deal with the backlash.

I agree 100%. I guess it is enticing because it is and S+ production, but something about this just feels like if she does this it won’t end well for her. She doesn’t need to be reborn again in a costume drama. I hope she is doing a modern drama soon.

If Meng Ziyi, take this role it will be very bad for her. She’s taking on too many of the same roles. This will be her third rebirth drama.

The trailer is so underwhelming. Gives nothing about the story, doesn’t show much chemistry…it’s like they don’t want to come up with something better to entice people to watch this drama.

Loving this so far. Xu Yan’s childhood is my childhood! I’ve cried multiple times already. and it’s only episode 8? This drama is ZL best acting, more mature and calm. Her subtle movements, gestures and facial expressions puts her in a league of her own compared to the other actresses she is being compared to.

It’s good and worth the watch. It also starts out slow because there are so many characters to set up and introduce but gets better as the drama progresses. It’s hard to say some things without spoiling it for you. Some story arcs are better than others. The problem with these Fox Spirit movies, and why they get such bad reviews is that it is based on a manhua and not a novel or something that has more substance. The acting is very very good. Ding Yuxi and Zhang Ruonan stand out to me. Liu Shi Shi too, particularly in one of the story arcs, you’ll know what I’m talking about if you decide to watch. Almost all the actors are lead actors in their own dramas and did well. Scenes meant to be heartbreaking are so well done it hurts. Because it is from a manhua, something’s are also hard to replicate visually so I think some of the special effects looks not so great. Anyway, I hope this helps!

Not sure, but maybe the one with Dilreba and Arthur Chen? They mentioned a director’s son. His father is a really well known and successful director both in China and internationally.

is it me or is there a mission for haters to lower all the ratings for SY dramas on this platform. all of her dramas ratings have declined in the past few days.
