It’s very makjang. That’s the unserious kind of vibe I’m getting too. The acting is sometimes hollow and exaggerated. The dialogue and line delivery feels off. I’m into it though. 😂

I did laugh at the somewhat romantic scene during todays episode. I’m all in on romance too, I love romance so much it’s weird for me to think it’s out of place. But in this drama it really feels out of place to the point where it’s funny.

I don’t know what it is but I just can’t take this drama seriously. I’m loving it and I think it’s a lot of fun trying to figure out who the killer(s) may be, but there’s just something kinda funny about it and it’s not intentional.

The MLs wife, she got off too easy for being a rapist. She should have died.

The current MDL rating of 7.6 screams basic, average, boring or even a bad drama by some standards. This drama isn’t any of those. It’s really well done and I was invested in every episode. My only gripe will be in the spoiler attached. So if you’ve been on the fence but the rating scared you away, just try it.8/10

Am I the only one thinking this pairing is an odd choice for a romance?

Yes, it’d basically the cliffsnotes version of the kdrama.

@Eres7, that’s exactly how I interpreted the conversation. The friend knew who she was but he said he didn’t want the ML to look bad or something to that effect, so he brought up the older woman.

I fully believe the ML dated someone else.

I’m not so sure. Wouldn’t she be more accepting of the 2ML then? She really doesn’t seem to like his attempts to rescue or help her with her problems. She wants him to leave her alone.

Same, now I have to watch this one. Heroes Next Door was so much fun.

I had to stop the first episode about 2/3 of the way, I’m not sure I can continue. It’s so bad! No one really seems to embody their character. There’s no life in any of them which makes it so hard to watch.

I didn’t say the FL was giving the romance vibes. The time they spent was giving romance, as in the way the drama framed their time spent together was as if it were a budding romance. That’s why people were over the 2ML. His time with the FL had romantic undertones and it was overkill.

I had been saving this drama for when I felt like I needed a really good binge. The reviews were always glowing and it’s been highly recommended. It felt like a win win. Apparently, my expectations were simply too high but this wasn’t what I expected at all.

Reading comments and reviews, I’m shocked the whole getting her mentally 7 yo son married off isn’t talked about more. How is everyone just ignoring that? It’s so gross. Sure, she didn’t want to leave her son alone after she passed, I can understand that. But that’s not the solution we should all just accept. It’s so beyond twisted I don’t understand how anyone could look past it and say this drama was a masterpiece 10/10! There’s no amount of cultural differences that will make it make sense.

The entire drama the mom was horrible to her son and just when you thought she learned something from it, she’d turn around and do something else just as bad. Are people really so twisted that they see her actions as love? Abuse isn’t love. Withholding food isn’t love. This mom was an abuser until the bitter end and the audience was ok with it because that was her way of loving him?

Solid acting though so I that counts for something.

What did I just watch?

I’m surprised to see so much hate for the FL. I thought the reasoning behind the breakup made complete sense and it’s very realistic. I don’t see her as bratty or trash. She’s just trying to figure out her life. They both loved each other and that was clear. But for her it was becoming exhausting trying to match calendars while also trying to make a career for herself. Sometimes you can only do so much, her breaking up with him early on was the kindest thing she could do. The alternative was him always being let down because she put her career first.

Yeah I struggled hard with where to land on the rating. For me your basic nothing special but entertaining enough drama is a 7. So really I should have gave this around a 4-5. But, when the ML finally had his 30 min moment and found out about what his brother went through, it was emotional. This drama lacked emotions of every kind so because it made me feel something other than annoyed, I thought it counted for something and pushed to the 6.
