If you don't have enough knowledge on the situation please refrain from talking about it. The movie being bad is one thing but disrespecting the authors, the readers and the characters is another. This movie is extremely misogynistic in terms of character changes. At first, orv fans were still going to watch as a way to support the authors but with the interviews from the director and actors, it shows how much respect they have for the original work. People are not going to sit down and chill when you smear their face with mud. The producer had already made another author cried because of their work being destroyed and uses it as a kind of "see, they understand in the end" because the original novel for that movie is a small one. We are NOT going to sit down if that happens to our authors. The director already threw the authors under the bus MULTIPLE times to justify his changes. The authors did NOT sold the their novel, it is munpia the company that owns the rights and sold it. It is not immature to be mad about misogyny and disrespect. It's called having a backbone and having standards. Gatekeeping is not selfish, especially if those audience comes from a source that does not even respect it's original novel. Rude remarks were never on the actors for stuff they did not do but rather valid criticism on the movie, the fan wars is because some fans takes an imsult to the movie as an insult to the actors.

Oh no a korean novel with no official translation flopped in said country!! How could this be? Yeah nobody wants people who are so obsessed over an actor that they can't seem to comprehend that an adaptation is supposed to somewhat resemble the original work to be in a fandom. Worry about your film cause as far as I know orv is still the top novel of Korea with various high ratings across all platforms while that movie already got dethroned with double the 1st day tickets and having 7-8 ratings despite having many strong fanbase to support it back in Korea.

The whole point of an adaptation is to put the original work into another format. Why not just make your standalone movie if you can't be faithful? Oh yes, because you need the hype of the og to get investors and actors.

Ah yes you talk as if this movie isn't an ADAPTATION in the first place. If you can't even put 1% of the original yet market it as part of the franchise, use its tags, use its author as a scapegoat, 1/10 is too much. If this score gave me a chance for a 0, I'd have given it that.

Tbh watching boku no pico is not gonna as bad as this movie. At least it's animated, this movie is cringe and they have real life actors deliver the lines so💀
