- Both xianxias about demons; theme of righteousness/good vs bad in humans and demons
- Very good looking leads and beautiful costumes, settings and similar cinematography
- Similar endings (with sacrifice but also ultimately a happy ending)
- Carefree FLs and cold, brooding MLs
- Spoiler: both MLs mess up BIG time in the drama and have to make up for their mistake - tear jerker plot
- No real love triangle (but both male leads like the female lead (FL only likes one of them though and stays faithful/doesn't waver)
- The demons carry something in them that people want
- Amnesia trope in both (but not overdrawn, thankfully)

Transmigration - both dramas have modern leads that are transported to ancient China eras, and they use modern knowledge to thrive.

Comedy in both dramas are similar. A lot of focus on family relationships and values of righteousness. With some mystery to keep you on your toes.

Brave FLs take place of another family member to marry a powerful general with dark/murderous reputations. FLs are smart and clever, and are not afraid of the MLs.

Love after marriage. Starts off rocky because MLs did not want to get married in the first place (not that the FLs did, but they were more willing to accept it than the MLs) and so MLs were extra suspicious of the FLs.

Enemies to lovers trope - MLs and FLs are from rival states, with the FLs pretty much subtlety going over to the other side to collaborate with the MLs to find the truth behind their earlier demise.

FLs looking good in red and both have the second ML obsessing over them.

Enemies to lovers trope - both from rival states/clans but end up together as allies early on in the drama. They find out who their real enemies are by learning to work together.

Both ML and FL leads are very clever, composed and collected. This establishes solid chemistry between the shows' leads, as they complement each other and can understand each other given that they match each others' intellect (and trauma/pain).

ML has one toxic parent who hopefully gets a chance to redeem themselves. Makes you feel for the ML, tbh.

Elements of brotherhood in both.

Both based on a female lead having transmigrated into a fictional world based on a novel/script. Very handsome male leads that start off cold but it just utterly adorable as they open up and fall in love. The female leads are trying to change the plot and ending of their story, and they are both quite bubbly characters. Light and comedic tone in both dramas. Easy watch - either are too serious or have a particularly complicated story or plot to follow.

Bambi is also in both dramas as the second female lead!

Same leads: See Liu Nian and He Cong Rui together again, and you can expect amazing chemistry between the two.
Liu Nian in both plays a woman who transmigrates into another world (historical for Please come into my Heart and modern for Lingering in Mind) and wins the heart of a high-ranking / rich man (ML is the emperor in PCIMH and he's a rich CEO in LIM). While he comes off cold at first, he's actually a huge softie with a sad/traumatic back story. He slowly opens up as his personality is balanced out with Liu Nian's usually very bubbly and charismatic characters, and his protective, affectionate (and adorably jealous) sides of him come out. Both are very entertaining watches!
