I have watched four episodes and I really enjoy it. I love the intro theme. Love the FL, Zhou Ye. She did a great job in Scent of Time. I really like the ML as well. Already good chemistry between the two. The show looks like it has a good budget. I am very interested to see how long she can stay hidden as a male. As a viewer you have to turn off your brain to the woman pretending to be a man trope in Cdramas. Only a blind man would believe He Yan was a man. Covering your face and putting your hair up is just not enough. You have to set that aside and just enjoy the ride.

To be fair he’s figuring this stuff out on his own while they are working as a team. And he’s only a step late. He really needs to join the team.

I think the chemistry between the ML and FL is fine. I think it has more to do with where the story is going and the lack of a real romance storyline. TBH I see chemistry between Beiming and Deirong and in turn Xueman and Kongyun if they wanted to go there. Hopefully once we get past the poison storyline they will focus on rekindling their relationship. Aren’t they still married?

If you love mystery and suspense you will really like it. The cases are great. They have a great ensemble of actors that really work well together. If you are looking for romance you will be disappointed. They have not gone heavy into the romance at all. Maybe once they resolve a certain issue with the ML, they will get more into the romance. Still early.

The CD ran out of steam by episode 15. The cases became repetitive and the leads were basically infallible Mary Sues.

I hate that trope. It would have been better for the story if they kissed but then she pulled away abruptly, stating she wasn’t ready to go there after three year apart.

Agree. I’m relatively new to Cdramas and ther “fandoms”. And I have notice strong factions similar to what you find in Kpop fandoms. People become antis of actors because they see them as a threat to their favs. Very weird imo. WXY is a talented up and coming actor and have noticed him receive his just praise but some weird hate threads as well.

I love the introduction of Hue Dai Rong. She’s really smart and brings mystery to the show. We can’t 100% rule her out as being with Yesha. I also like her chemistry with Bei Ming and Feng.

Honestly I don’t think you should be allowed to rate a show until it’s completed. Or at least require users to have watched at least half of the show before giving out ratings. It is what it is. I think as more people watch and rate, it will go up. I will give a high rating just to offset. It’s at least an 8. Hopefully it continues to get better. Really enjoying it.

There was no chemistry between her Hua Qian and the bodyguard at all. Felt more like her little brother so I didn’t care at all about him being on screen so much. Not much development with Xi Wu so that fell flat. Wish they would have explored their relationship more. And what she did to get with Yelan totally turned me off on that pairing. So in the end the relationship left me feeling empty.

The hype for this show is really high. Hope it delivers.

Not sure if this is billed as a romance. But their relationship was formed before we started watching. They were already getting married when the show stated. So we missed the build up. The incident on the lake created a barrier and distance between the two. So we should start to see them reconnect and fall in love again. You mention The Double but they didn’t start down that road until episode 14 or maybe even later.

True. He has made a few blunders due to over confidence. That has indirectly led to loss of life. They are pointing it out in the flashbacks with his mentor. While super smart he has to be careful with being arrogant or Yesha’s going to eat his lunch, like he/she has been doing so far.

Love that the 2FL has come in and added some spice to the show. I can’t tell if she’s good or bad yet but loved the way she looks at the ML. Nice chemistry.

Just finished episode 10. A mix of Criminal Minds and Sherlock Holmes. The mystery is definitely getting good as we go along.
