A Sweet and Surprisingly Enjoyable Watch

I didn’t have particularly high expectations before watching this, and at first, I thought the premise felt a lot like Bad Buddy: two neighboring families who hate each other and raise their kids to hate the neighbors’ kids as well, only for them to eventually fall in love.

However, the show turned out to be really enjoyable and pleasant to watch. I have to highlight Teshow, who was such a pleasant surprise here. I really enjoyed his performance, and I can’t wait to see what he does next.

It was also nice to see Ping playing a fresh and different kind of character, and I think he did a really good job with it. Overall, this was a surprisingly charming show that I ended up enjoying much more than I expected.

P.S.: When did Chimon become so sexy?

Main couple is cute

Unlucky Bae is a simple but cute university BL story. The main couple has great chemistry, and it’s genuinely enjoyable to watch them support each other as they gradually grow closer.

BUT, up until episode 7, I still have no idea why the writers thought the audience would enjoy watching a side couple made up of one of the main characters’ ex-boyfriend—who literally broke up with him on his birthday—and his supposed high school best friend.

I can’t stop thinking about how freaking obnoxious both of these characters are. They’re so unpleasant to watch, and instead of making me interested in their relationship, every scene with them just makes me wonder why I’m supposed to care about these two getting together.

I am still waiting to find out what good can they do to the story by the end of it.

Enjoyable show, but disappointing ending

I really enjoyed this season, especially how Mayata's feelings and insecurities gradually built up. However, Iwanaga's lack of empathy was shocking. He never properly acknowledged Mayata's feelings or tried to understand his struggles.

I hoped the finale would give both characters a chance to reflect and grow, but everything felt rushed. None of the issues that had been building up throughout the season were properly addressed or resolved.

Unnecessarily Obnoxious ML

I usually enjoy a red-flag ML, but this guy is just annoying. He's a grown man acting like a spoiled baby, and there's nothing charming about it.

The story feels pretty weak so far, too. Half the things these characters do make absolutely no sense.

I'll give it one more chance with episode 4, but I'm probably going to drop it.

Interesting premise, but Li Si is so annoying

Is it just me, or does Luo Yun Xi always play the same character in every show? It’s always that same holier-than-thou, untouchable, arrogant attitude, and I find it so boring to watch. At this point, almost every time he opens his mouth, I just skip ahead five seconds.

And how annoying is it to watch him teaching the guys from the freaking Divine Detective Bureau how to conduct an investigation? Aren’t they supposed to be the detectives here? Are they only there so Li Si can show off how incredibly smart he is? And is he somehow doing all of this to impress Bai Zhen Zhu? Please.

I really hope his attitude improves soon, for the sake of the story, because the plot itself actually seems quite interesting. I just don’t know how much more of Li Si’s smug superiority I can take.
