i kinda understand it though. imagine telling your wife, who is a commoner and who you are very much in love with,…
So instead of just telling the truth to his wife — someone he’s had a harmonious and trusting relationship with so far, and who has clearly shown respect for the Marquis in one of the very first episode, he just keeps lying and ends up making a fool of his wife and humiliating himself in front of his own soldiers (which a general obviously can’t afford to do). It’s nonsense. One of the reasons this drama was so good up until now was that it avoided these pointless clichés and misunderstandings and instead relied on believable, psychologically well-built characters. But this plotline really isn’t like that.
I honestly don't understand all this pointless lying and drama. It kind of ruins the show for me. It would have been so much better if Yan Zheng's identity had come out in a big dramatic reveal instead of all this fuss with his soldiers, but at this point it doesn't even matter anymore
Now, I'm sure the ML will die... because we definitely won't get a scene in which he announces to the world that Zhuge is the best detective in Qi Kingdom 😭😂😂
I still think that it's a twin story. One raised in the Qi kingdom, the other raised by a Haiya massacre survivor,…
I think the first one is true. ML manipulates everyone. He's simply too perfect — dying of the poison while giving Jesus Christ vibes. For real, he's like a saint walking the earth. That alone makes him suspicious to me. I'm sure there’s going to be a big plot twist about his identity.
Is it just me, or is Coroner Feng starting to seem more and more suspicious? First, he “accidentally” gave the wrong poison to Zhong, so they had no choice but to bring him into the investigation team because of that, otherwise Beiming would already be dead. Then, he discovered the poison on the pills that were said to have killed General Huo. It later turned out to be just a diversion, but it’s still unclear to me who actually coated those pills. Was it Dairong or her dying mother? Do they even have that level of pharmaceutical knowledge? Didn’t Coroner Feng just try to mislead the others throughout the entire investigation?
And now, suddenly, out of nowhere, he comes up with the idea that a fire cicada might be the antidote to Beiming’s poison – and who just happens to have one? The limping pharmacist (general Huo's actual murderer?), who is probably none other than Old Bug from Poison Valley. Is that really just a coincidence?
