Although Chu Qiao is a general, she is only human, she's not an immortal who can magically heal her injuries when…
What are you talking about? Is it too much to ask or competent female lead who will make good decisions, will be a strong fighter and won't need to be saved all the time because of the Romance?
Isn't that what Chu Qiao should be about?"
Also, shouldn't she be super skilled after the Frozen Lake incident? At least according to the end of Princess Agents? No idea how it was presented in the novel, though.
After watching Episode 1 and reading comments about the Chu Qiao needing help constantly, I don't think I will have the desire to go further with this one...
Another thing this new Chu Qiao is weak.. Constantly falling into traps and consistently being saved by Zhuge…
It's difficult to judge, because the original Chu Qiao for the initial 20 (?) episodes was trained back after amnesia fall (and she was clearly a total badass before, between her mother transferring majority of her skills and amnesia, but it was rarely seen on the screen).
Chu Qiao, back then, had at least 3 guys interested in her, so it's natural in the C-Drama world that she got injured/saved quite a bit to push romance forward.
It's a shitty reality of "badass female leads" that almost nobody can get away.
雙嫁 (Dai Qi Xuan) - above average "Marriage Swap" Drama. The FL made me nervous, always walking without bodyguards, staying close to crazy people, but she was also impressively smart, composed and good at planning and forward-thinking. It's interesting how rarely her original life was mentioned - I'm guessing Bai Ruo (time traveller?) was a very difficult opponent in the 1st husband's mansion. The actress playing FL is also one of the prettiest short-drama actresses around, which is a nice bonus. I liked ML as well, which rarely happens ;).
以姐姐之名 (Wei Jia) - the writers established a supposedly smart, strong, loving sister as the FL, and then what? Especially after a scissor incident, she didn't think about sending a personal female maid to her abused and scared sister? And send her to the same school where her evil sister goes? Nonsense. It's still watchable thanks to the actress playing the FL, but sometimes it's really difficult to see past plotholes and brainfarts.
涅槃火凤凰 (Wei Jia) - I really like the FL, as the actress did a good job playing a tough cop with a caring side. But the more the bad guys were escaping from the prison, the more I got bored. Also, did the FL really use her MiL and daughter to find a final hideout of the 2ML? Gross if true.
LOL, the father pulling a gun on his daughter wasn't in my Vertical Bingo. Plus, the opening race was nicely done. Just too bad it has a horrible and physically invasive ML, I guess a typical Chinese Drama Male Lead. Of course, then he can overpower otherwise very powerful FL at 2:31:00. And the FL is way too forgiving. Things are not finished, despite it going 2:40 hours long.
陛下别太爱!我靠好孕独宠后宫 (Chen Xi Xi) - I have simple needs, give me a drama with a low-key, composed, smart and all-around capable FL, and I'm good. Just like here. If she is pretty and non-reborn, then it's a double winner :). I rarely use the word "beautiful", as it's typically thrown around way too easily (just like dramas rated 10/10), but the actress here was really, really attractive. Maybe not "Wang Chu Ran" attractive, but damm close. The writing or editing could be sharper in a few instances (I have some doubts/questions about the plot), but it's still a very enjoyable drama. There were also things done really well - like Emperor sending to FL a maid with Martial Arts skills), Now, I'm going to hunt a version with better subtitles (watched at DramaBreak and they were average at best).
Title:"The Second Wife Dresses Up as Daiyu, Capturing the Cold-Faced Prime Minister" | 继室夫人装黛玉,拿捏冷面首辅ML:…
What a great drama, featuring an amazingly capable female lead, very Lu Songli-esque - with high-level ability of decision-making, scheming, counter-scheming, knowing what to do and when, etc... Big props to writers for keeping her consistently strong - they didn't dumb her down around the 2/3 of the drama, just to allow villains to run amok, as it happened with Minglan, Yingluo or in dozens of other cases Slower tempo than usual, so people with Drama's ADHD can struggle, but really enjoyable to watch. Also, some really good advice was shared here, especially when the FL was talking to her step-son. The actress, looking very pretty, is an additional bonus :).

Maybe there are better links around, but I'm too lazy to search for them.

Only some Micro Dramas tend to do better.

I hope to find time to watch it sooner rather than later.
