It's clear I didn't express myself clearly enough, even if I used "in her respective field", meaning decision making/scheming/counter scheming - I don't compare both FL's in physical strength, I compare their development (or regression in PoB's FL case) regarding their strongest points.
On ep 8 and I'm finding it hard to like Yun Xiang. Does anyone else feel the same? Idk he just isn't that likeable…

I really wanted to like this drama, and from what I remember, I even completed it, but the unlikability of Yun Xiang, and the writers killing the FL's character as a top martial artist in the fight against the gang leader played by Wang Jing Song made me pretty neutral about it. Pity, after such a strong start. The plotholes and the storyline turn didn't help either.
Overall, it was side characters who made it watchable, which is very rare for me, as typically I don't care about them.
After finishing "Prisoner of Beauty" (great during the initial 10 episodes and meh afterwards), I realised I would love the FL there to be as decisive (in her respective field) as ChangYu was when knocking out people after she decided they were not fit to battle.
I remember it's been discussed here before, but watching the PoB's super smart and scheming FL during the initial 10 episodes turned into just another generic in-house mistress, made me appreciate the ChangYu character more.
No matter how many shortcuts writers took with ChangYu's character development, at least she arrived there.
While the PoB FL was developed to give birth during the final battle and was pretty much a secondary character at that point. Despite writers having so many chances to utilise her better...
好一个大小姐 (Xiong An Ni) - I like this version much more compared to the one with Li Ke Yi, as the FL here is much more ruthless and scheming. However, the ML is equally terrible, and the Romance equally horrible.
This is the only version of this storyline where the FL is an Ancient General, and possibly the only one, where in the end the FL is kidnapped by some schmucks like some kind of Damsel in distress. What a waste.
