After having watched more episodes, I tend to agree with everyone saying the editing is not great. For someone…
I agree it needed to slow down for the first arc to allow us to invest in the characters. it’d too much, too fast, many, characters and jarring editing. shame because the acting and chemistry isn’t bad at this stage.
Am I one of the few who is finding the editing and pacing weird? The acting is great but it’s hard to invest in the drama when everything feels cut so suddenly?
That proposal was actually so sweet. I love that it didn’t need any grandeur but was just sincere and tender. I never said ‘Awwwww!’ as much as I did in that proposal. I think it’s easy to forget that if it comes from the heart that’s all it needs 🥹 what a sweet couple and you can see genuine care between them ❤️
After binging 8 episodes of How dare you, I checked this out for Wang Xingyue. His last two detective dramas weren’t…
I agree with you. I also went into this show with lower expectations especially not as a big BL fan but I think this role really suits her and WXY also is doing solid work and the pair are in unison and respectful and building to more so slowly and they have a great dynamic. I loved his speech to her about the shooting stars. The cases are interesting and part of a wider conspiracy that keeps unravelling and getting bigger that I’m really invested in it and also the show itself just looks pretty. The dark atmosphere and the costumes and scale. It’s actually really surprising me and I love that.
Ok hear me out: this is a show I think started with wrong marketing because the OG trailer sold to me something goofy, slapstick. When I started I was so ready to laugh but by the end of ep 6 I was so confused about what I was watching. The tone was strange. Like who is this show for? it’s trying to be kind of funny but its more a drama and with deeper messaging about our roles and changing our fate.
Once ep 7 hit on the boat it got really good with that powerful speech by the new minister guy about the state of the world and I was invested now in the show but it had moving to serious drama and tragedy and loss of life to get to where are and a real suddenly terrifying Prince villain. My perception on the show had to change to start enjoying what it was offering.
I don’t dislike this show because it’s got a solid story and motives and WCR and CL are doing great performances but I would argue what was promised in previews is different to what I’m experiencing in what kind of genre to expect.
This is a romantic drama and deep themes with occasional humour to release tension.
I am not ready to let this show go yet and its been well over a week. This show is so special to me now and I keep coming back to this page and feel cosy all over again.
Begging on my knees that he lands a meaty period drama role this year. His performance in Goodbye my princess…
Totally agree. Historical dramas suit him and he has great acting chops for something gritty.
There is a rumour about a historical he might be doing with Li Yi Tong which looks gritty as the team involved did The Glory and Blossom. Not sure if it’s just another random rumour that goes into the big rumour pot but if it does happen I think he’ll be given an incredible role there.

you said it and I already ship it and pray for them to be a pairing.
So fascinating to see all the behind the scenes details ☺️

Am I alone in thinking this?
