It's even more obvious with Feng Qi around. The stark contrast between him and SJ is like a boy vs a man. SJ might have been living more years but he only started learning about emotions and whatnot since meeting TY and breaking out of the seal. Now, SJ - aside from what you mentioned - solely focuses on TY's well-being and safety, while FQ will soon try to force some old memory out of her while compromising her safety.
