I will start by saying Cheng Yi is a very talented young man and a wonderful martial arts drama actor. I have not yey seen him in a role that I didn't like or that he executed flawlessly. And for the flying snake lord, they could not have picked a better actor his mannerisms, everything hands down cannot think of another actor who would have done better. Female lead was cast well and she did such a good job.
My question, however, for these actors, is I do see them play a lot of the same or similar roles. I wonder if the roles that they select are influenced by their own individual personalities and/or if their personalities are affected by the roles that they pla. These epic martial arts dramas are so good versus evil and really play up the gray area of what is good and what is evil. And the roles that Cheng Yi plays generally seem to have a high level of honor and integrity. Just wondered how much of them comes through in these roles, or if these roles have influenced who they've become? That's the question in a nutshell, I guess.
