Am I the only one who liked that Bale died as early as he did and how he died? I never cared for him as a villain and I wanted him gone way earlier, to be honest.
I love Minhye and Q - they're so effortlessly cool. I actually think both seasons are on par. I felt the same tension as I did with the first one. I got spoiled (unintentionally) for Kusanagi's death, but it was a cathartic moment for me. It was a fun season (if you don't get too attached to anyone).

There's only two princesses, and since he's actively leading the army alongside his father in the harsh Northwest, unlikely that the capital princesses are keen. Also, the father can just refuse as well. The idea is that Zhaoning is very much a beloved daughter so anyone who marries her kinda gets the Northwest, too. Her brother is the heir of Duke Wei, he's not a prince. So, technically the emperor probably can't make him marry a princess if he doesn’t want to, I think.

I enjoyed that he was equally shameless with everybody. Fainting and coughing at the slightest inconvenience, getting his brothers to do stuff for him while smiling... just an insufferable cutie to everybody.

He's a Duke in the subtitles, but just imagine it's a title just second to Emperor. His power is basically he is in charge of the army that protects the Northwest of the country. If the Emperor wants peace in the country, he needs to keep the Duke of Wei happy, because that army is actually enough to stage a rebellion. Plus, that army has won so many battles for the country and they're really popular with the people. That's why Princess Zhaoning must marry into the palace. They need her father's favour more than she needs them.

No no... at that point she was definitely a red flag (lol)... but as they say, the Crown Prince had rose-tinted glasses on. I lived for all of Tianyuan's exasperated looks everytime he twisted something she did into a positive. The delulu was strong...

I'm also an Asian in Asia, in case you couldn't tell. And you're asking for consistency between two completely different dramas. This was focused on the business/entrepreneurship part rather than romance. Their relationship was a very steady and stable kind of love, which is not fiery passion but just a different kind of soft romantic.

If people are here hoping for a lot of romance, I'd say: temper your expectations. There are a few kisses, but everything is very much to the standard of the 80s and 90s in conservative Asia. Not to say that there's no romance, cos I would argue that the main couple's relationship is very romantic cos the ML is very cute and a super green flag - the relationship is just not very physical.

It was the 80s and early 90s in China... do you really think they did more than hold hands at that time? I don't know where you're from, but in Asia in general, that's the acceptable level of 'romance' in that era.

That's correct. The rule is that transmigration and rebirth stories must end with them back in their original bodies because some people (some very young) were dying by suicide to try to get reborn...

It's a rule in China that transmigration stories can't end with them in the transmigrated bodies. Same with rebirth stories.

I think this site ranks dark comedy low in general. Good News as well got a 7.7.
