I was skeptical about watching this drama, given that the comments and reviews arenāt the best (and the poster looks a bit tacky lol), but i decided to give it a shot. I went in with very low expectations, and ended up liking it more than I expected!
I loved the premise of the drama - two men working in the cosmetic industry. it felt quite refreshing . the thing i liked the most was that they started dating quite early in the season, instead of the typical āstarting a relationship a fee minutes before the season endsā. we got to see them in their dating era, being fluffy, having fights and conflicts as a couple, etc. a lot of their conflicts were kinda stupid, but it was nice to see them resolve them quickly enough instead of letting them drag on. also loved how there were quite a few supportive characters.
the acting was pretty good. I think the main leads had great chemistry. they had some good kissing scenes too, instead of dead fish kissesš¤£
the non con touching towards the beginning was pretty off putting. one of the supporting characters was pretty annoying . Natsumeās constant self doubt and inferiority complex, and his āoh I miss my bf so much, but i donāt wanna bother himā was getting on my nerves. but i think he had a pretty good character development and got better at communicating later on.
to sum it up, it had its ups and downs, but overall it was a good watch.
Natsume not wanting to ālet Toma go back to modelingā and the sales competition at the last episode made zero sense to me. as a person who has always supported Toma, him suddenly wanting to ātie him downā felt so odd. and his reasoning being āToma just got promoted to Makeup Artistā made no sense.
if he wants to go back to modeling, why do you wanna stop him from doing so? heās an adult who is fully capable of making his own decisions. if he goes back to modeling and doesnāt enjoy it anymore, he can just come back to being a makeup artist. why would you force him into staying at his current job?!
I can recommend a bunch of Japanese BLs if youāre interested and still looking for recommendations ^_^
Just a fair warning, a lot of people didnāt like the ending of Always Meet Againš„² I personally liked it, and think itās a good watch regardless. Iād say itās worth a shot!
