you can read the novel on Wattpad/ao3 it's not at all lengthy if you sit you can finish in a day but to answer your question yes this is a gay romance and i wouldn't call it one side because the other is just oblivious that a handsome guy like Watarai could be in love w him... he's a bit conflicted but his affections are returned eventually the last chapter of the book is v heart touching because Hioki asks Watarai out officially and he cries.....lol watarai's freinds don't have stories of their own but they're v much involved in how their relationship grows and stuff but yes this is not a bromance,this isn't one sided...this isn't queerbait...it is a story about two boys falling in love w each other

The book is absolutely a BL and things between them start getting serious from the beach episode so hang on...my only fear is there is soooo much more left and the runtime won't do it justice so far they've done an amazing job at condensing in a way that doesn't feel rushed but I feel they'll have to cut some characters/story out to focus solely on the two of em
