On Yumi's Cells Season 3 16 days ago
Just finished binge watching this season (along with season 2 as a refresher). And when I was done, I was like "that's it?". I really wanted to love this season as much as the others, but I agree with all the comments here: their romance was too rushed! I do not hate this season at all, but I just feel like it could have gone from average/good to excellent if they added even 2 more episodes !

I liked Sun Rok's character. As an introvert, I did recognize a bit of myself in him. But the reason why I felt the romance was too rushed: a true introvert takes time to warm up to people and feel 100% comfortable with others. The first 6eps showed that well. And then boom, they're dating. And boom, they're talking about marriage. Like, what? I know this differs from people to people, but if I look into Sun Rok's character alone, he looks like the type who doesn't have a lot of friends, takes a while to (willingly) act friendly, and takes even longer to fully open to others. So the dating process should have taken more time ! The time between him realizing his feelings, them dating, and him proposing was just too fast for him, it doesn't make any sense. They don't even know each other yet! That's probably why we didn't feel any chemistry between them: poor boy didn't have enough time to get to that point !

As for Yumi, I loved her in all seasons. I always loved how she treated and respected herself. She values honesty. She also expressed her wish to get married. And anything coming close to cheating is a big no-no for her. I love how she takes no bull**** from anyone. But I felt like she lost a bit of that self-respect in this season. She hated ML for half of the drama, and then magically falls in love with him. I still don't understand the abrupt shift. I mean, yes Sun Rok is very handsome, and a real cutiepie, so I don't blame her for falling for his looks. But what about his personality? The way he acted cold and silent was a total turnoff for her, and that doesn't change that quickly.

I know they tried to follow the webtoon (I haven't read it yet) to some degree, and in the original work, their romance was also fast paced. But they should know that it doesn't work in a drama ! The pace is really important to build the chemistry.

Overall, I enjoyed this drama, but still feel very disappointed because I feel like they wasted true potential.

Feels good to watch something without having to think too much. I absolutely love rom-coms like that

By the rating, I thought this drama would be horrible. But I actually enjoyed it a lot. Of course, this is not perfect, and it has a lot of cliches, but I don't really mind. I thought it was a light watch. I felt like the pace was a bit fast, though; maybe 16 episodes would have been best. But it was still a good watch nonetheless!

That's the thing....she doesn't want to get fired. His lame attempts to provoke her into resigning is safer for…
I understand that. But by telling him, she gets the chance to actually get him on her side! If not now, in some episode maybe, when she understands him and trusts him. No need to go through the entire drama with that

I hate the whole cheating misunderstanding so much. As a viewer, I find this so dumb, unnecessary and frustrating! The whole thing would have been very easy to resolve if she had been honest with him right away. The guy is adamant about firing her anyway. So why not tell him? I wouldn't mind it so much if they don't drag this further than episode 6, but I have a feeling they will...
Others seem to love that trope and feel like, without it, there's no need for the drama to continue. Personally, I disagree. That's the writer's job to make something enjoyable and interesting to watch. The drama's forte is the MCs' dynamite-like chemistry, not the cliche plot. So I feel like they could make this work. They're already going on the cliche route anyway (which I'm fine with for now), why not make ML discover the lie (maybe without FL's knowledge at first) so then he can pursue her without being seen as a red flag to viewers, while we still enjoy some angst from our lead... (or idk, I'm not a writer...) Plus, we might as well get a simp ML instead of a douche one! (I mean, the guy was already smitten with her to begin with, so he's not far off from already being one)
