Really felt this so much! It makes me sad to see the group suspecting him. And the way they say to Wuxie to not…
IKR, and the fact that what makes Wu Xie such a special character and Xiaoge's bond to this world is basically he refusing to see Xiaoge as anything else than human and his very dear friend ;3;
So excited for this one, specifically to see Joseph Zeng as Wu Grandpa (what is just funny) and also because I'm curious to see if they will touch the whole mess that is Mystic Nine past
Praying for this cast to be the official one, I absolutely loved Xu ZhenXuan as Wu Xie, he is my favorite Wu Xie after Joseph Zeng and the one close to Zhu YiLong in appareance, what makes a neat connection between this new 2025 version with Reunion
I still need warm up to Cheng Xiang as Zhang Qiling, but can't lie he looks as a badass and delivered perfectly the otherworldly guy vibes from early Xiaoge in the books, and differently of some people I like this Pangzi, he is a little annoying, but sincerely his touching more personal and honest scenes with Wu Xie was the best part in this adaptation, a good change from the book
The only one lacking is A Ning, what I hope get better in Season 2 (idk if they will follow her destiny in the books or change it, but so far I sadly don't feel much connection with this A Ning)
And kudos for this adaption making me care about Wu Sanxing and Xie Lianhuan when I absolutely hate them in the books, also kudos for making me ship Pan Zi/Wu Sanxing
I hope they don't separate the whole books but just filmed whole books and air it 40 episode per season if there…
Tbf I think this way is better, they had time to cover all of book 1 pretty well, and if they do season 2 long enough to cover book 2 and 3 we will have UN taking book 4-7
I haven't seen any other series of the same storyline. This is the first one and I absolutely loved it. But there…
Book spoilers, but nothing that made it less entertaining:
1 Xiaoge real identity is Zhang Qiling, that is a title for the patriarch of the Zhang Clan, a lot of complexy background happens and Xiaoge is basically the last patriarch of his clan (that still exist but Xiaoge is from the main clan) and is cursed with a long life (he is almost immortal, but still can get killed, but only in a VERY violent way), the thing is that he lost his memory from time to time because of reasons and that's why he doesn't remember a lot of details of 20 years ago
2- It's a way later revelation in the books, but Xie Lianhuan and Wu Sanxing are cousins and look a lot alike, a lot of shit happened back in the first generation time (grandpa Wu) and because of that the second generation had to take extreme methods to fight a ghost enemy (connected to the Zhang clan and the Mystic Nine, aka a group of grave robber families), that's why XLH is taking WSX place sometimes and why everyone thinks XLH is dead
3 Oh it is not addressed properly because it doesn't matters to THIS story, but probably Grandpa Wu will have more character development in Mystic Nine 2
It's weird for me to say this but wu xie had more chemistry with the female ghost in epi. 16 than with a ning…
That's because A Ning and Wu Xie wasn't ever meant to be anything more than frenimes, they had way less chemistry in the books too and well her destiny is... yeah, anyway it is never to be a romance between them and fans wouldn't be happy if they forced one again
Same!!! Ultimate Note is Number 1 and then Time Raiders. I was waiting for someone to have the same opinion as…
tbf the Qiling blood scene wasn't canon either lmao but I still think it's weird they didn't show Wu Xie eating the pill that made him a little more special than he already is and giving him the ability to getting old slowly
Believe me you will not be in future adaptations lmao actually some popular danmeis are based in pingxie fanfics because it is like a big ship in China FOR YEARS
Oh they will, but if it keeps as close to the original book as it is, we will not see Xiaoge so soon (not that I expect that lmao they already changed some scenes so we had more pingxie moments)
🤣🤣🤣 Why are you watching two together???? Watch this, then Lost Tomb 2, Lost Tomb 2 part 2 then Ultimate…
Book fan here, you can easily find watch order lists based in each book covered by each adaptation if you care about chronological timeline, but I mean not that it helps much since each adaptation take free creative inspirations (some for good and some for TOO MUCH BAD), probably the new adaptations will be more accurate to the books (like this one was) but after UN technically the next one would be Tibetan Sea Flower and then Sand Seas (since vol 8 doesn't have an adaptation, UN is book 4 to 7 adaptation)

Okay as a book reader I will try help, first you need always keep in mind that each Daomu Biji drama is an adaptation, so the best way to understand wtf is happening is known what drama is what book adaptation. Time Raiders 2025 is book 1 and pretty much accurate to it (Lost Tomb 1 and 2 wasn't fan favorite specifically because they changed A LOT of stuff) and UN is book 4-7
So yeah pretty confusing, you still can enjoy UN for it own, but it's not exactly the best start point in the Daomu Biji series, but you can easily find watch order lists with each book listed too

I just hope we finally get book 8 adaptation
