Though romance isn’t the central focus of the series, this relationship is portrayed with a rare level of sophistication. It feels restrained and natural, never slipping into melodrama. Gong Jun and Ren Min beautifully capture the delicate emotions of first love—the insecurity, the hesitation, and that quiet, persistent fear of losing one another. It feels incredibly real and a little nostalgic.
