In To My Beloved Thief, the main lead is the actress, not the one you’re calling weak. She’s actually playing three different personalities for her character. We’re only worried about the actress who has to act alongside the younger, more junior actors.

No need to worry about the main actress’s acting skills. Just hope that the actor who appeared in your Queen Umbrella doesn’t end up being the weak one in this drama.

Before you start criticizing, go check how many of those “highest-quality” actors and actresses you support have ever actually won Baeksang or Daesang awards. You’re not cheering for their new drama — you’re just acting like a critic. Have you been watching K-dramas since you were a kid? If you actually watched the dramas you criticize, shut your keyboard and stop clapping in front of Google ratings only.

Have you seen even one scene of the main leads in this show? I watch both underrated shows and the highest-rated ones. I’ve been watching dramas since I was old enough to read — I’ve seen hundreds. You can’t say a drama or its leads are “weak” just because one Google rating says so. This show hasn’t even come out yet — are you really going to blame the actors now and say the movie will flop because “weak actors” were cast?

Do you honestly think only conventionally pretty actors make a drama succeed? If that were true, production teams would cast the same handful of stars in every project and never give juniors a chance. “Weak actors” used to be the ones from earlier generations too. Do the actors who have tens of thousands of votes on the internet automatically equal “highest quality”? No.

I’ll support actors I believe in — even if some people call them “weak.” That’s my right. Just because you watched a couple of shows and checked Google ratings doesn’t give you the right to say those actors are weak. If you don’t want to watch, fine — skip it. Don’t spread that nonsense.

Those actors you call “weak” worked their way up step by step just like the stars you admire. They earned their place. Some of the actors you trash have already won awards that match their performances. What exactly is their “weakness” — looks? Internet ratings? Be specific.

If you’re going to hate, at least bring facts. Otherwise keep scrolling.
