Youku actually has a huge backlog of long dramas, it’s not just vos, they’ve been sitting on a lot of finished projects for a while now. even YY zhao adventure wrapped filming way before VOS, and it’s still not out, youku’s overall promo behavior has been off lately. they even stopped doing basic things like birthday posters, like they didn’t post one for ZYX and Jieyi, there’s something going on...it’s strategy shifts, budget adjustments and just them being extra cautious with releases. that’s why it doesn’t make sense that some vos fans are singling out jjy and blaming her.

I think GJM and Youku are watching Siba very closely. They know that the moment they start actively promoting or releasing VOS, Siba will react and try to cause trouble again, so they’re being really cautious about every move.

You can already see the pattern, just yesterday, when VOS hit 2 million and started trending, Siba reacted almost immediately. Every time the drama gains attention, they seem to get more desperate to stir things up and push a negative around JJY.

That’s why it feels like the team might be moving in silence on purpose, instead of building loud hype and triggering backlash, they could be planning a more strategic approach ,to keep things low-key and then dropping updates. At this point, it’s not just about promotion anymore, it’s about avoiding unnecessary interference. They know how Siba operates, so staying careful and unpredictable might be the smartest way to handle it.

I don’t think this page is insanely toxic. If you’re not open-minded, you probably haven’t noticed how fans here try to defend their faves. I’ve seen countless arguments and fights break out on this page, yet even longtime commenters who clash often end up engaging with each other eventually. That kind of back-and-forth, where people can disagree but still interact respectfully, is something you rarely see on other pages in MDL. It’s messy at times, sure, but there’s also a sense of community that’s surprisingly consistent.

One of JJY’s fans already explained this clearly and to be honest, it’s mostly JJY fans who have been following every single detail of what has happened betwen her and Siba over the past 2 years after her contract expired. As Jasmine mentioned, Ju jingyi was already free to work because her contract had naturally ended under the standard terms. So it’s really not fair to shift the blame onto the crew or the platform, when from a legal and industry standpoint, she was able to continue her activities normally. What’s actually ironic is that Siba only escalated this contract dispute after Lai Zhan had already finished filming nd before that, there weren’t any major updates or actions from their side. If this was truly such a serious issue, why didn’t they push it earlier? For 2 years, JJY has been actively working, managing her own projects, and building her career independently without any restrictions, which further shows that there was no clear enforcement from Siba during that time. It was only later that they suddenly brought up the 20 yr contract claim, which contradicts everything that had been happening befor. So realistically, this situation isn’t smth the crew or the platform cud have predicted or controlled. The sequence of events makes it pretty clear that the issue was triggered later on, not something that was actively blocking her work frm the beginning.

JJY didn't do anything wrong, Legally speaking, whoever produces the contract, claims its authenticity and validity and intends to use it to assert their rights, must provide evidence to prove its authenticity. Siba cannot prove the contract's authenticity, their crime is confirmed. They have infringed upon the economic interests of their vast fan base. JJY has already released her contract authencity last year.

JJY shouldn’t be blamed for this. GJM and WYX’s big productions wouldn’t risk filming VOS and Lai Zhan if JJY didn’t have strong legal backing, especially with Siba making noise for two years while JJY was filming.

This is just how cruel agencies are.

I’m starting to think there might be some internal tension between Youku and GJM. GJM is always active online whenever there’s noise from Siba, which sometimes seems to add fuel to the situation. Meanwhile, JJY appears to be caught in the middle and ends up taking the blame. Of course, this is just my perspective, but the dynamics right now do feel a bit off.

I’ve been hearing about JJY’s contract dispute even before VOS started filming, so it’s kinda confusing why GJM still pushed through with it. But honestly, contract disputes are pretty common in the industry and are usually just between the artist and their agency, it’s not illegal or a personal scandal involving the actor. I’ve seen this happen a lot too, like with YangMi, SWL, and ZLS. They all had issues with their agencies at some point, but their dramas still aired just fine.
